do what we do... LEGOLAND California LEGOLAND California LEGOLAND California LEGOLAND California put together a magical day out for a family who just found out that their 7 year old, Na-than, has a brain tumor.

Nathan’s Uncle wrote to us after their day out and it wonderful reminder of why we do what we do.

“I am Nate's Uncle and I am writing to you as the rest of my family sleeps, recovering from an awesome day to-gether.

The morning started slow as all the adults were exhausted from the news we just received earlier in the week, but as we walked through the en-trance gate everything began to change. For the first time since we found out I saw his Mom and Dad laugh, rather than cry. We all began to relax instead of walking on egg-shells - you made this happen.

Yesterday was a happy day for all of us, we smiled, we laughed, ate ice cream, got our faces painted and breathed normally for a day.

I can't thank you enough for going the extra mile with us, we truly had a day we will all remember forever. We needed yesterday and you gave it to us. Thank you. “

Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium worked with Make-A-Wish New Zealand to make a dream come true for a shark-loving boy named Ashton.

Ashton, who su;ers from a serious heart condition, took part in our Shark Cage Snorkeling Experience, and to make it even more special, his Dad and two brothers joined him as well!

At the end of the experience, Nikki Jarvis (Merlin’s Magic Wand Chari-ty Champion), presented Ashton and his family with their attraction photo and also a goodie bag for the 3 boys – each including a Shark tooth from a Sand Tiger Shark which they had just been snorkel-ing with!

5 year old Christopher is a victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome,

SEA LIFE Dallas SEA LIFE Dallas SEA LIFE Dallas SEA LIFE Dallas treated Christopher with a special party for his 5th birthday. Christopher and his fami-ly had an amazing party and a tour through our aquarium.

His Dad said “It is great for him to see all the people who love him around him today, and we appreci-ate you making this happen. This is such an amazing experience that he would never get to have.”

Fundraising Success! The Magic Wand - May 2014

York Dungeon York Dungeon York Dungeon York Dungeon did some fantastic fundraising, as brave ‘volunteers’ from the acting team John Andrews (also MMW Charity Champion) and James Andrew got their pins out ready for a refreshing leg wax! ‘Death by Leg Wax’ took place in front of the queue line and was ‘helpfully’ assisted by the some-what enthusias-tic torturer Emma Falcao-Macfadyen. The boys lost nearly all of their leg hairs as the wax strips were auc-tioned o; to the baying crowd, and they raised an eye watering £150. Well done boys!

Rich Teague, Nick Westwood and Gary Kimber from Chessing-Chessing-Chessing-Chessing-ton World of Adventures Resortton World of Adventures Resortton World of Adventures Resortton World of Adventures Resort took on the challenge of Tough Mudder. Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile (18-20 km) ob-stacle course challenges designed to test your all-around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Rich, Nick and Gary challenged themselves in a very wet and windy Henley in aid of Merlin’s Magic Wand. So far, they have raised an incredible £710! Congratulations guys, the money you've raised so far will fund the travel of 22 families to their magical days out!

Every Easter, in the lead-up to Winter, the Falls Creek ski com-munity gets together to celebrate the coming season and they used the opportunity to do some fundraising!

We want your stamps! We have teamed up with Fundraising Stamps to raise money for Merlin’s Magic Wand. By collecting used stamps and sending them in pre-paid envelopes, we can raise money to help even more children worldwide!

Stamps that we can get fundraising money for are:

• Recently collected and unpicked • GB or foreign • Used or mint • On or o; paper • Everyday 1st class and 2nd class are ok, special issue
