By Aaron Brockey Editor-in-Chief I think I will be nice to you on your first day of high school, even though most of the upperclassmen don’t like you. Here you will make four years of great memories and they will stay with you for the rest of your life. Welcome to freedom! Here is some advice: Get involved! Join everything you can think of, you will appreciate school a whole lot more. Make friends with your class, because when the upperclassmen are gone, they’re gone. Make the most of the short four years you will spend here, you want to be able to look back at your time in high school and remember how fun it was for you. You know there’s no other experience like high school, your friends are with you every day, you have the opportunity to take classes for free and it’s the last time you’ll still be a kid. Starting high school is difficult, despite what you have heard, and it is nice to have some information to help you know what is going on. The editorial staff and I have put together a special version of The Mazama Rune, the school newspaper, to help guide you through your first few days at school. You’ll learn the fight song so you know what to cheer at school games and we’ve included a game schedule for the fall sports (football, volleyball, etc). If you find yourself lost (don’t worry, everyone does at some point), turn to page four and check out the map. There’s a list of all teachers and their departments and a very useful bell schedule. There will be a lot more people here tomorrow, so enjoy your first day!

Come one, come all to the Viking hall!By Aaron BrockeyEditor-in-Chief

I think I will be nice to you on your first day of high school, even though most of the upperclassmen don’t like you.

Here you will make four years of great memories and they will stay with you for the rest of your life. Welcome to freedom!

Here is some advice: Get involved! Join everything you can think of, you will

appreciate school a whole lot more.

Make friends with your class, because when the upperclassmen are gone, they’re gone.

Make the most of the short four years you will spend here, you want to be able to look back at your time in high school and remember how fun it was for you. You know there’s no other experience like high school, your friends are with you every day, you have

the opportunity to take classes for free and it’s the last time you’ll still be a kid.

Starting high school is difficult, despite what you have heard, and it is nice to have some information to help you know what is going on. The editorial staff and I have put together a special version of The Mazama Rune, the school newspaper, to help guide you through your first few days at school. You’ll learn the fight song so you

know what to cheer at school games and we’ve included a game schedule for the fall sports (football, volleyball, etc). If you find yourself lost (don’t worry, everyone does at some point), turn to page four and check out the map. There’s a list of all teachers and their departments and a very useful bell schedule.

There will be a lot more people here tomorrow, so enjoy your first day!
