THE MEETING PLACE TURNED 40!
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the Meeting Place’s 40th Birthday. The giant Paella cooking demonstration tantalised the taste buds, Tom Fisher and Jesse Beaton entertained with the best of the 70s music. Councillor Jon Strachan and long term supporters Teresa Rocchi and Ronelle Brossard helped cut the Birthday cake. For 40 years The Meeting Place has offered lifelong learning opportunities for the young, the young at heart and anyone in-between. The celebration was part of the Fremantle Heritage Festival and visitors were thrown back in time with our exhibition South Fremantle on the Wireless in which we dressed two rooms in 50s and 70s gear and played recordings of locals telling their stories of growing up in the neighbourhood.
Here is to another 40 years!
