Let s connue to pray for the scourge to end and God to get glory on the backside of all of this. I also pray for the hospitals, the doctors and nurses I know by name several mes every week. I also pray for our leaders in state and federal govern- ment whose decisions impact us all. And I pray for those I know who are in fi- nancial hardship right now. Please do the same. Please visit our Facebook Member to Member page as well as our First Bapst Hot Springs public page each day this week for Holy Week devoonal thoughts and mely informaon. And join us for a livestreamed Maundy Thursday Lords Supper service at 7:00 (you will need to gather elements to do the Lords Supper in your home). And join us again on Good Friday at 7:00 to be part of a livestreamed Tenebrae service (you will need 7 candles for this service). We are making the most of these days and doing the best we can to stay connected and focused in Jesus. Thanks for your generosity. Great news: we have finished March ahead for the year in our expenditures versus receipts. We couldnt do that if you didnt give faithfully. Thanks to Mike Pounders and his leadership, we have cut expenses considerably in these days. But it sll takes dollars and cents to do our work. Your generosity in a hard me is impressive and brings God glory. It wont feel like Easter without gathering at the church house to worship the Risen Christ together. But that is our lot this year. We dont like it, but well do the best we can with it. Please be prepared to worship. I know that I m going to be on camera, but even if I was home watching it online, I would wear the best clothes I had for this Sunday. Id sing bold and loud. Id invite others I know to engage the worship online with me. And Id worship the Lord with everything I have. Lets do it. This will be an Easter you can tell your grandkids about some- day. Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, and that changes everything! I love you and miss you. See you in your living room on Sunday. THE MESSENGER We are still in the time warp. We still can’t gath-er together. But we can still worship and serve. Thank you for making the best of a bad situation. I

Education / Outreach Ministry Counting our Blessings:

313 Masks Made So Far! We have several of our ladies who are sewing personal protective masks. The masks have gone to 5 Clinics, a hospital, grocery store employees and a nurse in OK. Thank you, Ladies! And we donated masks and gloves from our missions supplies to a local hospital.

440 FBC Meals on Wheels Thanks to all who have been serving with this effort! Keith Baker, our church cook is preparing special meals for those who were Homebound before the Coronavirus. We also are delivering meals to some who are ill or recovering from medical issues. He cooks an average of 55 meals 8 times, equals 440 meals so far. He usually has 3 helpers in the kitchen and 5 to 7 deliverers. If you are not a senior adult and want to get on the list to help deliver meals. Please call the church office.

8 Connect Groups Zoomed! These Teachers have used Zoom to have a virtual Connect Group: Gary Beckwith, Heidi Mote, Keith Baker, Cole Efird, Jeff Sheets, Dana Mur-phy, Tom Pullig, and Margaret Coulter! Let me know if others of you are doing this please. Great to hear you are getting together virtually during this time. If you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to. Let us know and we will help you. Here is some info for you: Businesses use this online, video meeting format. He led a time of prayer requests and then a brief lesson on Sunday. I encourage you to try with it your group. You can download the free version of Zoom. You can have a group time of up to 40 minutes and up to 99 people. For a good tutorial, go to YouTube and type in “how to use zoom for teaching.” Then you can use the email list for your group to invite them to join in. You could do it at your regular time or piggy-back off one of the worship times, or another time to avoid too much screen time.

Hundreds of Calls, Keep Up the Good Work! Thank you so much reaching out to everyone, members and prospects in your Connect Group during these days of opportunity. We need to stay in touch on a weekly basis! And if you discover ministry needs, please serve! I know many of you have email lists. However, please check on each other in a very personal way by calling. We sent class roles to all Adult Connect Group Leaders via email. You can use your care group lead-ers or fellowship or dinner groups. If your group is not organized, now’s a good time to do that and initiate getting coordinators for care groups of 4 or 5 individuals or couples. I’ll send leaders info about creating care groups. Please let me know of any good stories of your experience.

Pastors Called 530 and counting We were concerned and called 530 who weren’t attending Connect Groups and now calling our Prospects. The people have seemed to really appreciate the personal call and concern and have shared many prayer requests.

1000’s Watching Worship Online: Sunday, April 5: 1,012 Unique Devices x 2.3 = 2,327

Maybe the Most Important Number is: Who’s Your One? What a great time to be in touch with Your One. Check on them. See how they are doing. Inquire if there is anything you can do for them. Ask if they have any prayer requests. Offer to Pray for them. Ask if they think God is trying to get our attention during this time. Share the gospel with them. And stay in touch with them on a regular basis! Love, Danny

The church family extends sympathy and prayer to Vicki & Tim Kinsey and family in the death of her aunt; and to Mi-chael & Christi Whatley and family in the death of his cousin. May God bless and comfort you.

SYMPATHY

Fitness & Recreation Ministry Church family and friends, not many of you know this but years ago, I was in a dark place. Spent a long time there. Years. It took all I had to make it through the workday. I was exhausted, unable to do anything about the darkness. Of course, I was in scripture multiple times daily. I continually called out to God. Silence, seemingly. Face down on the floor in my closet, pleading with the Holy Spirit to pray on my behalf because I did not have the words. “How long, Lord?” I love music If you haven’t realized. I pay attention to the lyrics because words are important. We know words can build up or tear down. I find hope, comfort, strength, and encouragement in songs based on scrip-ture or biblical themes. One of the songs God used to minister to me in those dark days is referenced below. It’s also one that minis-ters to me today. I offer it to you in hopes it might en-courage you as well. It’s a reminder from Psalm 121. These days are hard for many of us. The uncertainty of it all makes it even more difficult. It can be overwhelming, but we do not need to let it keep us down! What a reminder we have even in this Holy Week! We have a King who fights for us! We have a King who goes before us! We have a King who is very present, even in our dark struggles! Lift your eyes Christian! Lift your eyes brothers and sis-ters! Keep seeking God’s face! God is with us. And He is faithful! He will see us through to victory!

“God, my God, I cry out. Your beloved needs You now.

God, be near, calm my fear, and take my doubt. Your kindness is what pulls me up. Your love is all that draws me in.

I will lift my eyes to the Maker of the mountains I can't climb. I will lift my eyes to the Calmer

of the oceans raging wild. I will lift my eyes to the Healer

of the hurt I hold inside. I will lift my eyes, lift my eyes to You.”

The opening stanza lyrics above are from the song I Will Lift My Eyes by Bebo Norman. Find the song online. Listen, more than a few times. Read the lyrics. Be en-couraged, brothers and sisters. God is working. He has been faithful in our past. He will prove Himself faithful again!
