Assessment CriteRia 1. Expert Judging: Two MBWFC judges will visit your establishment from 1st July to 31st July 2013. They will judge your

‘Wild Dish’ and Monteith’s beer or cider match based on set judging criteria. The top two scoring outlets from each

of the six specified regions will go through to the semi-finals, where our head judge, Kerry Tyack and guest judge,

will visit each semi-finalist between Thursday 1st August and Sunday 25th August 2013. This will determine the six

expert judge finalists to go through to the live cook off final, one from each of the six regions. On

presentation of an official MBWFC Judges card, you

are to supply the wild dish and Monteith’s beer or

cider match free of charge.

2. All participating outlets will be judged using the judging criteria sheet. This includes reviewing if the competing outlet

stocks at least six of the Monteith’s range over the competition period of 1st July to 31st July 2013. Please contact your

DB Representative to arrange this stock.

3. Participating outlets registration details and clarity of recipe will be taken in to consideration in the expert judging

process. Ingredients and method are mandatory and will be reviewed.

4. People’s Choice/Public voting: Your customers will be asked to vote via from their mobile phone (or voting form if

required). They will enter a code for your outlet and then their score (out of 5) for score (out of 5) for how well the dish

was matched with the Monteith’s beer or cider, how well the wild dish met their overall expectations and how far the

restaurant has gone in promoting their involvement in the Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge.

5. On the MBWFC voting forms, consumers will be asked:

- How well did the dish match your Monteith’s?

- Pitiful (1) to Perfectly (5)

- How well did the dish meet your overall expectations?

- It didn’t (1) to Totally (5)

- Did the restaurant get into the spirit of the Challenge and go the extra mile?

- Not really (1) to Definitely (5)

6. People’s Choice/Public voting: A tally of the highest scores as voted by the public will determine the ‘Wild Card’ finalist

from the ‘People’s Choice’ section to go straight through to the national final cook off in Auckland. Voting is NOT on

the total number of votes but the mean score of total votes (average). These outlets need to have appeared on the

leaderboard at some stage over the 4 week voting period and have at least 20 votes.

7. Spirit of MBWFC: All outlets taking part in the challenge will be automatically entered in the Spirit of MBWFC

award. This $2,000 cash prize acknowledges the outlets that get go the extra mile to deliver the best wild food

atmosphere within their establishment (judged by judges and the public 50/50) throughout the Challenge period

1st July – 31st July 2013. Outlets are encouraged to send in photos to [email protected] which will be displayed

on monteiths.co.nz.
