Board, ask a bartender or if you would like you can call me. I may not have the answer for you at that moment but I will get it. My number is 302-258- 3493. Fraternally yours, Rick Baker, Governor Happy Fall, y’all! It has been a lot of work getting the Lodge back open and in order. I would like to thank the Board of Officers, the WOTM and the ones that always work behind the scenes. But most of all, thank YOU, the members, for coming out and supporting us by buying dinners or just stopping by having a drink to socialize. Without you, the members, supporting us, we would not have a Lodge, so please come out and help support your Moose Lodge. Yes we are Moose proud!!! Remember we are having Monday wings, Tuesday Subs, Wednesday Pizza and a pitcher, Thursday night Kitchen and Friday night dinners. Bring in the New Year with us! Tickets are on sale; ask the bartenders. The tickets are $25 per person which includes the dinner. We are having a dinner 6-8 pm with the band playing 9 pm-1am, starring FuzzBox Piranha. This is a re- turning band from last year and that was a sold out crowd, so get your tickets now. This will be social distancing and will require facemasks while not sitting at a table. We like our members and guests safe and healthy. With you doing this, helping out your Lodge you are also helping the kids at Mooseheart and the seniors at Moose- heaven. I can tell you, they really appreciate everything we do for them. If you have never been there, you need to go one time to see the kids. They are very appreciative of eve- rything. The ones at Mooseheaven stood tall and helped by dedicat- ing their time and energy to make sure we defended our defending circle and kept it strong during their time, it is now our time to shine. So please support the Seaford Family Center Lodge 1728. This is your lodge, be proud, because it belongs to all of us. We would like to have more things hap- pening but the restrictions are holding us back, so please be patient and work with us. We are following the rules so you and your family stay safe. Help Us Make Sleeping Mats for the Homeless!

At this time, we have enough bags. Now we JUST NEED PREPPERS & CROCHETERS! Thank you to all of those people that came to our plarn workshop. If you couldn’t make it, but you’d still like to learn how to cut the bags and loop the strips together to make plarn (plastic bag yarn), let us know! It’s super easy. We just need more hands working on it! If anyone knows how to crochet and would like to help crochet the mats, let us know that too! It’s literally just a big square….big enough for an adult to lay on. Just eyeball it! If you are willing to teach others to crochet, that would be great too! Women of the Moose News Oh my! It’s the holiday season already! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because there is no “pressure” to buy gifts….we just have to stuff ourselves with good food while spending time with those we love. I am hoping that covid-19 doesn’t prevent you from seeing those that YOU love this year. Covid has affected our attendance to some of our events, but we understand. You have to think of your health first. We do get that. However, if you see a dinner on the calendar that interests you, please consider doing takeout. Wear your mask coming in, remain 6 feet from everyone, and pick up your food and take it home to enjoy. It will get you out of cook-ing that night! Covid has also taken a toll on Moose membership, not only in our lodge and chapter, but across the fraternity. If your dues have recently expired or are about to expire, please remember that even though activities may be limited based on covid, your contribution still helps to keep Mooseheart and Moosehaven going. The kids living at Mooseheart and the seniors living at Moosehaven need all of us to keep doing what we can. If you’re having issues paying due to covid, please give me a call and we’ll see what we can do. We recently had our annual Christmas in October Auction. This is something we tend to do every year because the cause is so important. It’s one of the major fund raisers that the women do during the year. Attendance was “ok” based on the covid situation, but it was a little lower than we would have liked. However, the good news is that we still raised a decent amount of money, some of which will be used to send to Mooseheart for a kids gift and to Moosehaven for a sen-iors gift. Patti Mitchell is the chairman of this committee and she also did the tree in the social quarters. It was a beautiful tree. She did an outstanding job. Thank you to all of those that donated a dollar for a moose ornament to hang on the tree. In November and into early December, the Activities and Sports committee will be raffling off a wreath full of gift cards. I f you would please consider buying a raffle ticket, this will help us and may help you with your Christmas shopping if you happen to be the lucky winner! The price of the tickets will be determined once we see how many gift cards we have and the total value. However, the tickets will be affordable! December 5th will be a special day. The community service committee is planning a Parade of Trees. This will be an event where businesses or personal people will donate decorated trees, no taller than 4 ½ feet tall. The trees will be set up throughout the hall for your viewing pleasure on Dec 5 from 9 am to 3 pm. You will be able to buy “auction tickets” to be placed in the bucket by the tree you would like to win. The lucky winners will be drawn in the afternoon and the win-ners will be notified to come pick up their tree. We will also have a sweets table for you to buy baked goodies and a craft table. Santa may be there for a picture opportunity. Because of social distancing the kids will NOT sit in his lap, but sit in a chair or bench in front of Santa. You will take your own picture with your camera or your phone. December 20th is the Family Lodge Christmas Dinner. This year, due to covid, dinner will be provided to you. We will also be having our “Santa’s Workshop” where the kids can come shop for gifts to give their parents, siblings, and grand-parents, or whomever they’d like to buy for. The gifts are then wrapped by us!

I hope to see you at one (or more!) of our meetings. They are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:30.

In Faith, Hope, and Charity, Melody Baker, Sr Regent ([email protected]/302-258-3494)

Ladies, if you have an update to your address or your phone number, we would like for you to update us on a way to contact you. Please keep your info current by calling the lodge (302-629-8408) , calling Shirley Dukes (302-841-3806) or by dropping your info in WOTM box.

Administrator’s Accolades Brothers & Co-Workers, as we come upon this holiday season and the coming New Year, the year of 2020 will be one none of us will forget any time soon; some will never forget. I believe we are all looking forward to a new and uneventful year. As of this newsletter the Seaford Lodge is planning a New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance with a limited amount of tickets to keep our social distance for everyone's safety. Details are in this newsletter. Brothers & Co-Workers, again we will hold our Christmas Cash Raffle for a chance to win $500.00 cash for your holiday pleasure. Winner will be drawn on December 20, 2020 at our annual Family Christmas Dinner. We would like to take a moment to send a special thank you to all of our brothers who have been faithful in sending in your lodge dues even when the lodge was closed for almost 6 months. Brothers & co-workers, we are trying to put our programs and activities back together as soon as possible. Brothers & Co-Workers, our prayers are with you and your family during these troubled times. Be Safe and God Bless. Fraternally, Bill Trice III
