PRAYER CORNER
O Jesus, present in the sacrament of the altar,
teach all the nations to serve you with willing hearts,
knowing that to serve God is to reign.
May your sacrament O Jesus be light to the mind,
strength to the will, joy to the heart.
May it be support of the weak,
the comfort of the suffering,
the wayfaring bread of salvation for the dying,
and for all the pledge of future glory. Amen.
-Saint Pope John XXIII

women may be honored and respected and that their
essential contribution to society may be highly esteemed.
Evangelization Intention: That families, communities, and
groups may pray the Holy Rosary for evangelization and

BISHOP RICKEN’S

friendships and love of their family.
SUMMER HOURS Beginning this weekend Friday, May 27th through Friday,
September 2nd, church will close every Fr iday
immediately after the 8:30 am Mass and the Office will
close at noon.
CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION Due to the many events here at the Cathedral during the
month of May, it was decided to keep the Corpus Christi
procession simple. If in the future you would like to bring
Jesus back into the streets we will need your help. Let the
office know if you are interested in coordinating this
beautiful prayerful event.
A NOTE FROM YOUR PASTOR This past week, it was a real privilege to concelebrate at the Ordination to the transitional diaconate of
four seminarians: Adam Bradley, Matthew Rappl, Jon Thorsen and Zach Weber. Please God, approximately a
year from now, they will be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Green Bay. Three of them stayed at
the Cathedral rectory during Holy Week. They assisted Bishop and myself during the Holy Week services. I
can attest that they are fine young men and I look forward, by the grace of God, to calling them my brother
priests.
There are so many ways that I have seen God's hand at work in our two parishes these past 22 months.
I marvel at all the wonderful people that step forward in faith, to worship with us faithfully each week, to assist at the altar,
to usher, to sing, to minister to our homebound and to so generously support these parishes in our effort to build the
kingdom of God. And I'm very grateful for the staff that the Holy Spirit has brought to us. Thank you.
I challenge everyone to stay focused on the good work the Holy Spirit is bringing about amongst us, to stay focused
on the light, not the darkness. We have to acknowledge and process both. One modern approach is what they call the SWAT
analysis. This is where we look at all the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats we face. The temptation is to
over focus on the weaknesses and threats and to forget our strengths and the opportunities.
God is Emmanuel, that is, He is with us. Remembering this, we will build on the graces he sends our way, such as
these four young men. Let's pray for them, and do all we can to respond generously to the Holy Spirit every day of our lives.
God Bless! Fr. Joe
