Q. Do I still need to switch even if I only use landline phone?

A. Yes. Landline phone or voice services are part of the

telecommunications services that are available over the

nbn™ broadband access network. To keep your services

active, you’ll either need to switch or speak to a phone and

internet provider about other options.

Q. Can I keep my home phone number if I switch?

A. Yes, if you switch before the existing network is

disconnected. Ask your current phone provider if they can

transfer your number when you order your plan

Power outages and the nbntm broadband access network

• Devices connected to the nbn™ broadband access network will not work during a power outage.

• Consider having an alternative form of communication handy, such as a charged mobile phone.

• If you have a safety critical device, speak to your device provider or service provider about alternative solutions.

• Electronic equipment connected to the nbn™ access network may need its own separate battery backup to work in a power outage system (such as a UPS).

NBN Co will never make unsolicited calls or door

knock to sell broadband services.

There are times when NBN Co may contact you

directly as part of the network rollout, but never to

request payment.

NBN Co may make calls to individuals registered on

our Medical Alarm or Fire and Lift registers but will

never request payment or bank account details

during these calls.

Verify who you are talking to

and do not give your personal

details or bank account details

to an unsolicited caller.

Tips to keep you safe

1. Do not share your bank or personal details with an unsolicited caller or with those who door

knock

2. If you’re in doubt, ask for their details, hang up and call your retail service provider to check if

they’re legitimate

3. nbn™ approved technicians and workers carry enAble™ identification cards

4. nbn does not call you with automated assistance to advise you will be disconnected – we

suggest you hang up the phone

5. Never give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer via the installation of

programs such as Team Viewer

6. nbn is a ‘wholesaler’ – you will need to purchase an nbn™ powered plan through a phone or

internet provider
