InaccordancewiththerequirementsofDINEN1808,eachwinchusedforpassengerelevationmustfeatureasafetysystemonanindependentsafetyrope.Yaleofferstwodifferentsafetycatchingdevicesfortwocommonapplications.

BothtypeshavebeenapprovedforpassengerelevationandcomplywithstandardDINEN1808“Safetyrequirementsonsuspendedaccessequipment”.Inaddition,thecatchingdeviceshavebeencertifiedbyanindependentinspectioninstitute(DGUV).

Overspeed safety catching device (YOSL)

Thisoverspeedcatchingdeviceisautomaticallytrippedwhentheloweringspeedexceeds30m/min(0.5m/s).Theintegratedclampingjawmechanismofhardenedsteelstopstheloweringmovementofthesystemwithinafewcentimetres.

Inclined position safety catching device (YISL)

Thisinclinedpositioncatchingdeviceisautomaticallytrippedwhentheangleoftheropeortheplatformexceeds5°.Theintegratedclampingjawmechanismholdstheropeandimmediatelystopsthemovementofthesystem.
