We want so much to get there, get settled and acclimated, and start working with everyone at V.E.T. Net. But we know that God’s timing is beyond our understanding and is always the best for His kingdom purposes. So…we wait.

That said, we are trying to make the most of our time. During our four-week missions training this summer in Colorado, the staff at MTI helped us connect with a Mongolian couple living in the area. They work with CRU

  • summer home) to missionaries on furlough or otherwise between places, or to ministry folks just needing respite. Their home is available to us this fall until January 15.

God seems to have opened doors for us that we could not have hoped for or even thought would exist. It feels like in Isaiah 31:21 that He is whispering behind us, “This is the way, walk in it.”

So right now, staying in Colorado for a few months working on a bit of language and connecting with a Mongolian church in Denver looks like our Next Steppe. It’s not what we thought we would be doing this fall, but then, a couple of years ago, moving to Mongolia was not what we thought we would be doing EVER.

It is all part of God’s excellent plan, and we are learning to trust Him with our times.

    Praises:

    • That God kept us here in September, as we had an issue come up that would have been very difficult to deal with had we been overseas

    • For the opportunity to do even a little bit of language study with Mongolian Christians while we wait

    • For a very nice home to stay in here in Colorado for three months

    • For the Zoom meetings we were able to have with supporters

    • For relaxing travel restrictions within the country of Mongolia, which have allowed V.E.T. Net vets and teachers to make 18 trips to 14 provinces between August and November to provide sheep to needy families and connect with countryside believers

    Prayers:

    • For holiday travel for us, our children, and all other families trying to celebrate together

    • Continued healing for Annabelle

    • For fruitful outcomes from all of the Mongolia V.E.T. Net countryside trips this fall

    • For God’s timing regarding our entry into Mongolia

    • For our elections: for honesty, for godly people to be elected and for peaceful and not violent responses to the outcomes

    Blessings, Laurie (and John)
