Mountain Top Excavation is very proud to announce that we have pur-

chased the assets of the Mashuda Corporation. Mashuda Corporation has

a rich history of providing quality earthmoving operations. Specializing in

heavy earthmoving operations for highway, site development, and mining

projects, Mashuda has made a name for themselves. They have built more

of I-79 in Pennsylvania than any general contractor. The company also had

significant involvement with the Pittsburgh, Johnstown and Cincinnati Air-

ports, Route 19 in Butler Co., and construction of the Mon-Fayette ex-

pressway from Uniontown to Brownsville. MTE President Tim Zeglin says,

"Marcellus Shale drilling has afforded us the opportunity to really honor

the legacy of the Mashuda family by making this transaction.”

(MTE) What started as an excavation company founded in July 2005, has

quickly become a regional leader in site preparation. The company was

originally founded as a Partnership between Tim Zeglin and a local Laurel

Highlands developer. In 2008, Tim, a Mt. Pleasant native, acquired sole

ownership of the company.

At its outset, Mountain Top was created to service the Laurel Highlands

home market primarily. Among other things, this included home site exca-

vating, road building for residential development plans, and installing on-

lot septic systems. As the home market entered a slowdown in 2008, Tim

began to actively seek out other revenue streams. This led him to the Mar-

cellus Shale, where MTE has been able to thrive.

We are laser focused on becoming the largest excavation company in West-

ern Pennsylvania and beyond. The Natural Gas industry has enabled us to

expand our capabilities and develop our business exponentially. We em-

ploy Pennsylvanians and give them the opportunity to work closer to home.

We recognize that the Marcellus is still in its early stages and understand

the positive impact it will continue to bring in the future. With the ongoing

development of the Utica Shale, there is no reason we cannot continue to
