Contract No. 13/2016/SW

The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) has received a loan from the Government of Germany

Rehabilitation of the Waler SuDDlv Svstem Al Gweireveh/ Zaroa Proiect

A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on

the submission of a written application to the Tender Department of WAJ at the address

given above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of JD 300 (Three hundred Jordanian

Dinars) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will

be cash, cash equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The met Bidding

Documents will be sent by surface mail to addresses within Jordan and electronically by

email to addresses outside of the Jordan.

Project Area Overview

Al Gweireyeh area is located within zarqa City, The pro,ect area is about one Km2 and

represents the central parl of Zarqa city. Al Gweireyeh is surrounded by four main streets Al

Rasheed St., (north), Al Jaish St. (East), Prince Abdul Ellah (South), Prince Mohammad St.

(West), Al Ghwerieh holds around 30 blocks, the blocks are not uniformly allocated with

many pathways and narrow streets, the blocks circumferences are usually commercial shops

and markets. Most of the streets pavement and sidewalks are deteriorated.

Description of Main ltems of Work

The detailed scope of work is mainly related to the installation of below main water pipelines

including all accessories, appurtenances, valves and house connections:

A Site Visit followed by a Pre-Bid meeting will be conducted at 9:00 AM on 8 March, 20'16.

The assembling of Bidders representatives for the Site Visit will be at Water Authority of

Jordan (Jaber Bin Hayyan St, No.45, Shmeisani, Amman 11183 )Attendance is strongly

advised for all prospective Bidders or their representatives but is not mandatory.

Bids shall be delivered to the Tender Department of WAJ at the address given above no later

than is 13 April, 2016,at 12:00 noon local time in Jordan. Bids received after this time and

date shall not be considered and will be relumed unopened. Electronic bids will not be

oermifted. Bidders should be aware that distance and customs formalities may require longer

than expected delivery time. Bids will be publicly opened on [13 April, 2016 at 12:00 noon

local time in Jordanl in the presence of Bidders' representatives who choose to attend .All

bids must be accompanied by a Bid security in Jordanian Dinars in the amount of 180.000

JD or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

Qualification requirements, besides others, include the following:

. Eligible and qualified bidders are Jordanian Contractors classified as Grade (1) Water

and Wastewater according to the Government Tendering Directorate, and

lnternational contractors who possess similar qualifications and experiences as

Jordanian Contractors classified as Grade (1) Water and Wastewater;

. Bidders must have, in the lasl 5 years, al least an average annual turnover in total

amount of JD 3,000,000 per year with at least two contracts of a similar nature;

. Bidders must have experience in the execution of at least two contracts, as prime

Contractor in one of them, of a nature equivalent to the Works in Jordan or in the

Middle East Region, over the last 5 years;

o Bidders musl have a Bank certificate for access to liquid assets and /or evidence of

access to/or availability of credit facilities of not less than JD 2,000,000 or equivalent

to meet the construction cash flow for a period ofthree months.

. Bidders must have sufficiently qualified personnel and adequate construc{ion

equipment to execute the works.

As the result of the post-qualification evaluation, qualified bids will be selected and the

financial proposals of only those bidders evaluated as qualified will be opened.
