As another exciting Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game approaches, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of special events over the course of the weekend. The festivities kick off on Thursday night with Charlotte’s Annual Uptown Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event, which is free to the public, will include appearances by the ACC mascots and special guests.

The fun continues Friday night with the ACC Night of Legends presented by the Belk Bowl. The event, which is a ticketed event available to the public, will honor former ACC greats and 2012 ACC award winners during a reception and dinner at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Gameday will bring a whole new level of excitement to ACC Football Championship weekend, starting with the ACC Championship Chase 5K presented by Harris Teeter. The day continues with ACC FanFest, presented by AT&T. This pregame destination, free and open to the public, will feature everything you need to get ready for the big game. From hospitality, food and beverages to interactive games, pep rallies, autograph signings and much more. ACC FanFest will be highlighted by a free concert featuring Little Big Town and Lee Brice.

Get ready for ACC FanFest Presented by AT&T.

This will be one of the biggest events of the weekend. ACC FanFest will encompass a large area of interactive games, team bands, mascots, pep rallies, Corporate Champion attractions and giveaways, food, beverages, autograph opportunities with ACC Legends and live music all day long!

ACC FanFest is scheduled to start on Saturday at 12 Noon and will run until 7pm. All activities take place outdoors (rain or shine) adjacent to Bank of America Stadium along Mint and Graham Streets. Two very special musical acts highlight the day as Lee Brice & Little Big Town will be playing FREE shows for ACC fans!

PArkiNg For ThoSe wiTh DiSABiliTieSBank of America Stadium does not have reserved handicap parking on stadium grounds, but it has a limited number of spaces allocated for accessible parking in the Mint Street parking facility directly across the street from the North Gate. Please call (704) 358-7800 for more information or to pre-purchase a space.

For those with disabilities desiring a drop off point close to the stadium, there will be a lane in west bound Morehead Street as it approaches Mint Street that will be open to vehicles with handicap placards. It will be marked by orange cones. There is a curb cut at the corner and two driveway cuts along Morehead Street for wheelchair access. A map showing the drop off location is available at ACCFootballCharlotte.com.

To get to the stadium from the drop off simply go to the corner of Mint Street and Morehead Street. Proceed to the right on Mint Street and go under the highway overpass for I-277. The stadium grounds will be on your left after you pass under the overpass. Your ticket will indicate the gate closest to your seat, but you may enter at any gate.

Post game traffic can be very heavy and if the driver is parked in an area to the north of the stadium accessing the handicap lane for pick up can be very time consuming.

lYNXThe LYNX Blue Line offers fast, quiet, convenient light-rail service between Uptown Charlotte and I-485 at South Boulevard. Parking is available at seven park and ride lots along the line. Stops at the Carson, Stonewall and Convention Center stations put you within blocks of the stadium.

TAilgATiNg gUiDeliNeSTailgating activities can create special risks to public safety due to the use of multiple open-flame cooking devices in close proximity to people, vehicles, buildings, structures and combustible vegetation. These guidelines are established to provide a set of minimum safety measures to be followed by persons wishing to engage in such activities.

+ Open-flame cooking devices shall not be operated within 25 feet of any building or structure and not within 10 feet of any motor vehicle.

+ A minimum clearance of 10 feet shall be maintained between any open-flame cooking device and dry vegetation, combustible materials, trash dumpsters or receptacles, or in close proximity to anything that can create a fire hazard.

+ Any parking area or lot being used for parking and tailgating activities shall be provided with metal containers for the safe disposal of coals, cinders or hot ashes. Containers shall be clearly labeled “For Coal and Ash Disposal Only.” Any other trash receptacle or container shall not be used for such purpose.

+ Every effort shall be made to ensure that any coals or cinders are extinguished prior to disposal.

+ Open-flame cooking devices shall be attended at all times and shall not be used in parking decks or in any manner that will impede pedestrian or vehicle traffic.

Any other type of outdoors burning or open fire, which is not part of a cooking device, is strictly prohibited.

Alcohol PolicYAlcohol will be sold on the Club Level only and is not permitted to leave the Club Level. Fans who consume alcohol are encouraged to drink responsibly. Patrons who are obviously intoxicated will not be admitted into the stadium. All alcohol sales require a picture ID as proof of age. You must be at least 21-years-old to purchase alcohol. Only two beers will be sold at any one purchase per person.

BANNerSThe Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship may allow a limited number of banners, subject to stadium management approval. In addition, stadium management reserves the right to prohibit banners due to space availability, banner size or message content. Banner messages should be football related.

BehAVior PolicYTo insure that all fans have a pleasant game day experience, each patron should act responsibly and be considerate of others. Fans should also be sensitive to the behavior of their guests. Rules of conduct are printed on the back of each ticket.

Stadium security personnel will respond to complaints of misconduct. Fans who fail to comply with stadium policy after being warned will be subject to ejection or arrest. Multiple violations may result in revocation of ticket privileges. Whether or not certain types of behavior or acts are inappropriate or offensive to others may depend on one’s perspective and values. Stadium management reserves the right to deem an act or exhibited behavior to be inappropriate based on available information and circumstances and take appropriate action.

cAmerA PolicYSmall still cameras are permitted in the stadium. Small video cameras are permitted. Tripods or any other similar equipment that could be a tripping hazard are not permitted.

chilDreNBank of America Stadium was designed for fans of all ages. Please note that every child over the age of 12 months is required to have a game ticket to enter the stadium. Any child under the age of 12 months admitted without a ticket must share a seat with an accompanying adult.

Carolinas Medical Center emergency care stations are located on the 100 level across from sections 109-110 and 133-134, on the 300 level across from suite 310A, and on the 500 level across from sections 511-512 and 543-544. Registered nurses, doctors and paramedic units are on duty.

Prohibited items that are discovered during security inspections must be either returned to the owner’s vehicle or discarded. Unlawful items that are discovered during security inspections are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of those items is subject to arrest. Any prohibited item discovered inside the stadium is subject to confiscation.

SmokiNg PolicYBank of America Stadium is a smoke-free facility. Fans who fail to comply with this policy after the appropriate warning will be subject to ejection.

STADiUm gATeSThere are three main gates to Bank of America Stadium:

+ North Gate - located off Graham Street+ East Gate - located off Mint Street+ South Gate - located off Morehead Street

Stadium gates normally open two hours prior to kickoff. Security will wand all fans prior to admission. All entrances comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and are equipped to accommodate guests with disabilities.

TAg-A-kiD ProgrAmAll guests who would like to register their child for the Tag-A-Kid Program may do so at any of the 100 level concourse Guest Relations Booths. The child will receive a wristband with his/her seat location. If the child becomes lost, the wristband will give an event staff employee or police officer the necessary information to escort the child back to his/her seat. If a parent is not there, the child will be taken to the Public Safety Office.

Charlotte Collegiate Football, a non-profit organization, runs the Belk Bowl and serves as the local organizing committee for the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Will Webb serves as the Executive Director for the LOC.

The Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, in its eigth year, will be played in Charlotte December 1st. The winner of the championship earns the ACC bid to play in the Discover Orange Bowl, if not selected for the BCS National Championship Game.

The 2012 Belk Bowl will be played on Thursday, December 27th at 6:30 pm. It features a matchup of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big East Conference.
