DESCRIPTION
Branding and Packaging for an organic cafe company.TRANSCRIPT
My brief was to rebrand the company to give it a fresh modern feel to attract the city consumer and create a packaging range that will support the idea of sustainability by encourag-ing people to re-use the packaging to ‘grow their own’ food. I will also design promotional material for the cafe aswell as proposing a website.
The Organic Pantry is an organic farm company based in my local area. It supplies and delivers fresh fruit and vegetables to the local community through an on site shop and made to order veg boxes.
To reduce day to day waste produce and to expand the company I proposed to set up a cafe in the local city of York, targetting office staff and city go-oers by offering them a taste of the country within the city.

CONCEPT
II have designed a range of 4 packaging pots which are for fruit, veg, soup and smoothies. The idea is to pick your own food in the cafe to fill up your pot.
Each pot is a different colour and is labelled on top do that it can be identified quickly. The design is based on a pick and mix pot, showing a selection of fruit and vegetables and continuing the fresh organic colours.

The cup carrier is based on the idea of a strawberry basket, continuing the theme of picking your own. This will be made out of recycled card.

The inside of the packaging has a printed strawberry pattern continuing on from the design on the pot labels
Using waste food in the pot as a compost, each fork comes with one of 10 different herb seeded papers which can be planted within the pot. The fork is used to stick into the pot and acts as a measure aswell as a label so you can collect and grow a range of herbs in your home.
The Organic Pantry do not supply to supermarkets and promote the idea of growing your own through talks and workshops in local schools. I wanted to continuie this through to the packaging by including seeds for customers to participate.
It is diifficult to grow your own food within the city so i have designed a simple windowsill idea using the packaging pots to replant and regrow your own food.

Be sustainable will include info and recipes on how to support sustainability and organic food.
I have proposed to re-design the current website to continue its fresh new look.
The website will be split into 5 pages, About (history of the company), Shop, Cafe and Be sustainable.
