The Company’s long term relationship with the Middle East began in the mid 1970s when the current Chairman visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reached agreement for the import of Arpal branded chemicals into the Kingdom. In 1983, the company was recognised as an outstanding ambassador for UK business abroad, when it was awarded the Queens Award for Export Achievement.

In 1987, an agreement was reached with the Abudawood Group to manufacture and distribute Arpal products in Saudi Arabia, and we are proud to have been associated with the family for over 25 years. In the early 1990s we took our first steps into the Gulf and, having seen the huge potential in the region, set up Arpal Gulf LLC in 1996.

In 1891 Robert Purves Adam started a business in the small town of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders (UK), manufacturing a range of cleaning and bleaching agents for the local textile industry.

The custom built 15,000 square feet warehousing facility has over 500 pallet bays and is located alongside our sales, service, finance and administrative offices in Jebel Ali Industrial Area 3.

Our training division offers a hands-on approach to training to ensure that basic principles of cleaning, hygiene and safety are understood and established quickly. Our multi-lingual team speaks a number of languages pertinent to the work force requirements in the UAE. Our practical training programmes are usually conducted in the workplace as we have found that this is by far the most effective way to efficiently train staff. Currently, we are able to offer training support in the following languages: English, Arabic, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Konkani, Malayalam, Singhalese, Telegu and Kannada.

All products are made under a manufacturing licence agreement with UK based RP Adam Ltd. The factory is GMP accredited and managed under the strict guidance of the RP Adam Ltd technical department. We have our own on-site laboratory and technicians, a highly experienced factory manager and a dedicated production team. This significant investment now means the Arpal brand is locally produced to the highest international standards, and clients have the guarantee of knowing that there is no third party involvement with the manufacture and supply of Arpal cleaning solutions. We believe that our competitors are unable to offer a similar guarantee and we are very proud that the Arpal brand quality is cherished, valued and protected.

To this end, Arpal (ME) Chemical Manufacturing LLC attained GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) accreditation, in accordance with ISO 22716:2007 for the manufacturing of detergents, cleaning chemicals and disinfectants. GMP is a production and testing standard independently audited annually, which helps to ensure our customers receive a quality product. It also ensures that the fabric of the premises and the daily working practices

DUBAI MUNICIPALITYArpal Gulf chemical products are registered with the Dubai Municipality and are labelled to comply with all Municipality regulations. All chemical product labels state the country of origin and core chemical ingredients, and are barcoded to enable Dubai Municipality officials to scan the label for product validity – i.e. to ensure that all products are correctly registered and genuine. All disinfection products are registered and independently tested to the European disinfection standard BS EN 1276. Clients therefore have peace of mind in knowing that cross contamination of surfaces and equipment can be controlled and avoided with the proper dilution and application of these products.

A versatile product that can be used on most hard surfaces including showers, baths,floors, walls, toilet cubicles, urinals, wash basins, tiled areas and tables. It contains ahighly effective biocide and can be used as a damp wiping multi-purpose sanitiser inhousekeeping and building services applications.

Personal Protective Equipment:-

BIOTEK WASH & CLEAN is a concentrated product and must be diluted before use. It isusually dispensed through a wall mounted bottle, or bucket, dispenser or through a 30mlpelican pump fitted to the 5 Lt container. It is important to follow the recommendeddilution rates as over concentration may cause smearing on surfaces or leave themtacky. These residues can however be removed by wiping down the affected surfacewith a damp cloth or mop or rinsing with water.Spray BottleFor general cleaning dilute 1 plunge of BIOTEK WASH & CLEAN from either a Smart Pumpbottle fill dispenser or pelican pump, per 750 ml Biotek spray bottle.Either spray directly onto, or spray onto a cloth then wipe over the surface to becleaned. Allow sufficient contact time, agitating heavily soiled areas if necessary,before rinsing with clean water and wiping over with a clean damp cloth. BIOTEK WASH & CLEAN is a concentrated alkaline multi-purpose washroom and hardsurface cleaner/sanitiser. It contains a pleasant herbal perfume and is formulated toclean, disinfect and de-odorise washrooms, showers, baths, walls, urinals and other hardsurfaces. It easily removes soap scum, whilst at the same time leaving a fresh herbalfragrance. Tested to BS EN 1276 standard for biocidal efficacy at a dilution of 25:1 and acontact time of 5 minutes.

USING CHEMICALS SAFELY AT WORKWhat Are Hazard Symbols?

Hazard symbols are orange boxes found on chemical labels and packaging. The symbol warns the user about the potential danger. To handle and store chemicals SAFELY the user needs to be aware of the potential danger and what steps are required to protect the user and others from harm.

CORROSIVE

May cause burns and destroy body tissue on contact.

Helping To Reduce the Risk of Harm.The hazardous nature of a product cannot be altered, only the risk of harm occurring during use. The simplest way to protect the user from potential harm is through the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

GLOVES

As a minimum requirement users of all commercial detergents should wear suitable gloves at all times.

IRRITANT

May cause inammation of skin or mucous membranes through immediate, prolonged or repeated contact.

HARMFUL

May cause acute or chronic damage to health, or death, when inhaled, swallowed or absorbed via the skin.

TOXIC

OXIDISING

Training in the safe and effective use of our chemicals is vital, and we have developed a comprehensive range of support and reference materials to enhance our face to face training sessions. These valuable reference tools offer guidance to help eliminate common mistakes, improve cleaning performance and ensure that staff are working in a safe and risk free environment.

We offer our clients a number of cleaning and safety training courses, supported by Product Guidance and Material Safety Data Sheet manuals, colour-coded wall charts, interactive CD-ROMs and recommended Standard Operating

Procedures. You will benefit from practical, hands-on training in your place of work – you will NEVER see a training video. Training can be tailored to your precise needs - from basic induction training for new staff to refresher training for existing staff. All staff can be certificated in the use of our products, and training records signed for inclusion in personnel files, to ensure that all staff understand the importance of safe working practices. For customers where staff turnover is high, this is a crucial resource to draw upon.

A KEY TO STAFF SAFETYTo help our customers comply with their important COSHH responsibilities we have

recently developed an updated Chemical Safety presentation for our distributors and end user customers. As before, the focus is on three key areas:

1) Identifying hazardous products.

2) Helping reduce the risk of harm to staff.

3) Understanding the generic Golden Rules when handling commercial cleaning detergents. The presentation is delivered by one of our field Customer Service team with the sole objective of ensuring that users of Arpal Gulf chemicals get the maximum benefits from using our products.

In today’s world we are being constantly reminded of our own personal responsibilities regarding the environment. Recycling at home is now the norm and, similarly, businesses must look at various alternatives to improve their environmental credentials. Reducing plastic waste is a key area for high consumers of commercial detergents. When dispensed through a bottle fill dispenser, each 2x2lt pack of Arpax concentrate yields the equivalent of 44 cases of 6 x 750ml packs, the difference being that trigger sprays are re-filled time and time again - that equates to 264 bottles and triggers that would otherwise be thrown in the bin. Arpal Gulf recommends a two-stage cleaning and disinfection process. We test our sanitisers to the recognised European standard of BS EN 1276: 1997. Utilising the Brilliant range of liquid and powder detergents laundries can drastically reduce re-wash rates, get better stain removal results and therefore in turn achieve lower wash costs. Our chemicals are used via sophisticated electronic liquid dosing systems, dosed into washer extractors that vary from 25kg to 200kg of dry weight load. By pre-programming using a “wash type” select unit, laundries can select differing chemical combinations depending on the fabric category being washed. All wash programmes are devised following an in depth site survey to ensure the correct chemicals are added at the correct times in the wash process. We provide training and advice on collecting soiled linen, sorting linen, loading and unloading of the wash extractor, drying washed linen and finishing.

Laundry Test Piece Services: We offer a full range of laundry one-wash and multiple-wash test pieces to measure the power of a wash process and the expected life cycle of linen processed through it. Pool Water Treatment

Dryden Aqua is a Scottish based Marine Biological company established in 1980 specialising in water quality and innovative water treatment technology. It has a strong research and development background and has been conducting research for the European Commission and UK Government under a Life Environment program. Presently Dryden Aqua is working on an FP7 project to help develop clean drinking water for India.
