Text Evidence /Explanation of Adjectives

Ponyboy Curtis His hair was longer than other boys

I thought he was brave

Because it takes and braveness to go inside a burning building

Light brown hair, almost red

I also thought he was scared

Because he was scared to get jumped or get locked up in jail

Greenish gray eyes And that he had courage

Because he had courage that Johnny would live

Johnny Cade He was the youngest of all

I thought he was scared too

Because he didn’t want to go to jail and die

Jet black hair, w/ shaggy bangs

I also thought he was just following Ponyboy

Because he just did whatever Ponyboy did

Black eyes, and had, suspicious look

And that he was the quiet one

Because he got jumped bad by Soc`s.

Point of View

• S.E. Hinton tells the story from Ponyboy’s point of view. Which is also known as first person, because he is using “I, me, my, etc.”

• Since Ponyboy is the main character it makes more sense for him to tell the story. So we can see/know what is going through is mind , why he does what he does and what he thinks about everyone else.

• If the author told the story from a different point of view it would a whole different kind of story. For instance, if it was told from Soda’s point of view it would show how worried he is for Ponyboy and Johnny.

Recommendation

This book is the best book that I've read in a long time. It really got my attention, because I could relate to it. The characters in this book were about the same age as us. And all of them went through the same problems as us too. And she didn’t make it long book to read, and there's some funny parts in it as well. She has done an really good job on this book, and I hope a lot of you read this because you would like it too!

Its #1!
