Subject: Church Parking Lot across Elmont Road Repairing and Repaving of Parking Lot

Dear Parishioners, It has been over 35 years that any work has been done in the St. Boniface Parking Lot across Elmont Road.

Having surveyed the area, our parking lot definitely needs repairs. The repairing and repaving work depending on the weather will begin on Monday, August 8, 2016.

To our good parishioners who come to the 7 am and 8:30 am mass. Please park your cars either in the parking lot between the church and school in the cemetery side and the parking lot behind the school. You can enter by Village Avenue off Elmont Road.

I have also informed the director of the school, Dr. Ed Dana to advice the school staff to park in the same area.

I know it will be inconvenient but the work should be completed as soon as possible.

Regarding parking on morning masses, kindly follow the instructions of the contractor.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Sincerely,

Msgr. Willie

NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

1) Wisdom 18: 6-9 2) Hebrews 11: 1-2, 8-19 or 11: 1-2, 8-12 3) Luke 12: 32-48 or 12: 35-40

FOCUS: Through placing our faith in God and living according to his commands, we become a source of hope.

As we read almost daily about terrorism and violence, it can seem like the good guys are losing. This is not the case. As long as believers in God’s ways exist, there is hope that love will overtake hate, good will overtake evil. Jesus’ perfect sacrifice of love upon the cross is definitive proof that the power of sin and evil has been defeated. What more do we need?

LITURGY OF THE WORD

Our first reading from the Book of Wisdom recalls the great Exo-dus event. The people’s faith in God gave them courage to weather the storms they faced, Our reading from Hebrews recalls Abra-ham’s journey of faith, which gave him the courage to follow through in doing God’s will. In the Gospel, Jesus talks with his dis-ciples about faithful and foolish stewards, encouraging them to choose wisely.

NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

In this Gospel, Jesus says “Sell your belongings and give alms. Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven that no thief can reach nor moth destroy.” Please help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul bring

respite and hope to the elderly who are not able to find relief from the summer heat, and you will indeed find “an inexhaustible treasure in heaven!”

Pope Francis' Prayer for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy

Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Sa-maritan woman: "If you knew the gift of God!"

You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by for-giveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and for-given by God.

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind.

We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.

HOMILIAS PARA LEER

Cf. Source Internet pris
