PGA TOUR WIVES ASSOCIATION RETURN TO FORT WORTH RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

FORT WORTH, TX--On Wednesday, May 22rd the PGA TOUR Wives Association (“PTWA”) is returning to cook and serve lunch to the families at the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth during the week of 67th annual Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

“We are really excited to come back and visit with the families currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth. We so enjoyed our time here last year that we made the decision right then to come back,” said Meagan Laird, VP of Community Outreach. “We are again preparing and serving some of our favorite family recipes from our book to share with the families and really looking forward to spending time with the children and their families.”

The PTWA celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and, to commemorate that milestone, published a book entitled Beyond the Fairways and Greens – A Look Inside the Lives of PGA TOUR Families. The book tells the story about the Association over the last 25 years and features personal family stories and pictures not seen before from over 130 PGA TOUR players. Also included in the book are family recipes that will be served to the families at the Ronald McDonald House. The book is available at multiple outlets including amazon.com and butlerbooks.com with all the proceeds benefiting the PTWA and the charities they support.

“Our families are looking forward to the PTWA coming and making them lunch and using some of their own family recipes,” comments Beth Lamb, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth. “It can really make a family’s day with such a simple gesture as a home cooked meal. Their stay is a very stressful and emotional time and we do all that we can to make it as normal as possible so they can feel supported at their home-away-from-home.”

About Ronald McDonald HouseRonald McDonald Houses worldwide provide a “home-away-from-home” for families of children who are receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth was established in 1981 and is built on the simple idea that when a family is focused on healing their child, nothing else should matter – not where they can afford to stay, where their next meal will come from, or where they will lay their head to rest at night. When a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family can be just as powerful as the strongest medicine.
