DeAnne L. Brooks, BS, PharmD, serves as the Chief Pharmacy Officer for Cone Health. She is responsible for ensuring the patients of Cone Health have the right pharmacy care through the collaboration of expert knowledge and state of the art technology. The pharmacy team is comprised of almost 400 employees including pharmacists, certified pharmacy technicians, and support team members delivering exceptional pharmacy care to our patients throughout Cone Health. She supports educational efforts to build a strong future workforce of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through the pharmacy residency programs, schools of pharmacy, and pharmacy technician programs.

DeAnne received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1983 and her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2005, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her ASHP-accredited hospital pharmacy residency at Cone Health and has been employed at Cone Health since 1987. She began as a clinical pharmacist and has served as an oncology pharmacist, the manager of the Women’s Hospital pharmacy, the director of pharmacy at Moses Cone Hospital, and the chief pharmacy officer for Cone Health.

DeAnne is an advocate for optimal medication therapy and team members working at the top of their license and certification. She is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Health Management Academy and the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists.
