The PIE Plate Partners In Education of Clark County May 2017

Thank you Winchester Federal Bank!! Thanks to the generosity of Winchester Federal Bank, PIE was able to host a successful Volun-teer Appreciation Chamber of Commerce Breakfast on April 26 at Baker Intermediate School. The support from Winchester Federal Bank allowed us to offer a hot and fresh breakfast prepared by the cafeteria staff from Baker. This breakfast gave us the opportunity to honor and thank all of our hard work-ing volunteers.

Congratulations to Christy Davison! In addition to honoring all of our volunteers at the Chamber Breakfast PIE also recognized our Volunteer of the Year. Christy Davison has served as the coordinating liaison in support of the Central Bank nine-year partnership with Partners In Education. For the past four years, Christy has recruited six Central Bank employees who are matched with Shearer students, who are in need of additional tutoring.

In addition, Christy coordinates between the teacher and the employee the dates and times that mesh with the school and with the employee and supervisors of Central Bank. She also serves as the coordinating arm between Shear-er and Central Bank with the annual corpo-rate giving presentation and distribution.

Christy is an integral part of Central Bank’s long standing support of education in the Winchester/Clark County community.

Scott Hisle is the current Vice-Chair of the Clark County Board of Education, representing District 2. He is originally from Lexington, but moved to Winchester in 1998. Scott received a BBA & MBA from the University of Kentucky and began working for The Freeman Corporation in 1984. He has been their Chief Financial Officer for many years. Scott is very involved in the Winchester community as he is a Leadership Winchester Graduate, current Rotary Club member and Past Rotary Club President. He is an 11 year member of the Winchester-Clark County Parks Board and helped to make the construction of the College Park Playground, the gym renovation and the indoor pool a reality. Scott has been married to spouse Christy for 29 years and they have three college-age children.

Experts For Education Had a

Successful First Year Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, PIE is happy to announce the first year of Experts for

Education a success. We were able to schedule over 20 hours of speakers for our teachers

this past year. In addition, we are helping to schedule speakers for the Summer Migrant

Camp at Campbell Junior High during the month of June. Thank you to all of our Expert vol-
