PTA President’s Message

Welcome Back To School!

Welcome back to everyone in the Weathersfield community — staff, parents and students — to the 2015-2016 school year.

The Weathersfield family is proud to announce the launching of our new school app. Simply search “WEATHERSFIELD” in the App Store or Google Play. Our new app will improve communication by providing quick links to our website, upcoming events, calendars, lunch menus, fundraisers, teacher websites, and one-tap attendance calling. Make sure to accept Push Notifications.

I am really excited about the opportunities that will be offered to your children during the year. I am fortunate to speak for such a talented staff in saying we are excited about working with you and your children this year!

James Marshall, Principal

Weathersfield PTA Membership

We are soaring into the school year with our annual PTA membership drive.

Join the PTA from September 2nd - September 16th, to help support your child and Weathersfield. By becoming a member you can have a voice in your child's school and help make decisions that affect your child. In addition, your child's class could win a party for getting 100% class membership.

Anyone in your family can become a member: you, your child, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and friends. Each PTA membership is $10 per person, per school year.

In addition to the class party for 100% membership, we will give out prizes for membership, and you will receive addition incentives during the year at other PTA

sponsored events. Membership envelopes will be sent home to each family and are also available in the Weathersfield office.

Join the PTA and have a great year.

Be Part of PTA’s Reflections Art Program!

2015-16 Reflections Art Program Theme:

Let Your Imagination Fly!

The National PTA Reflections Art Program has been encouraging students to get involved in the arts since 1969. Participation in this terrific program encourages students to be inspired by the annual theme to create an original work of art, use their creative talents to express themselves imaginatively, and receive positive recognition for their art.

How to Participate in the PTA Reflections Program:

Students are invited to participate in the Reflections Program by submitting an entry form and an original work of art based on the 2015-16 theme in one of the six areas:

Dance/Choreography

Literature

Photography

Film Production

Music Composition

Visual Arts

Artwork will first be submitted to Weathersfield PTA where it will be recognized, celebrated and judged by grade level division (Primary Division: Kindergarten-2nd Grade, Intermediate Division: 3rd-5th Grade, and Special Artist Division for student artists with special needs). Entries that score the highest in the judging at Weathersfield will then be sent to Conejo Council PTA for judging at the council level.

Please join us for a special Reflections Workshop for students on Monday, September 21st from 2:45-3:45 p.m. in the MPR. At the workshop you will learn more about the Reflections Art program, get information about the six areas of art for the program, and pick up entry forms!
