The Protective Pup The Patrick pups loved spending summer afternoons outdoors.

They got the chance to run around in the garden and chase after butterflies. Both Bella and Brody enjoyed the sunshine because it gave them a chance to just lie around and sun their

coats.

However, there was one part of summer that they totally dreaded, and that was when the late afternoon showers came.

Each day at about 3 o'clock, Brody and Bella would dash for

the house as soon as they saw the rain clouds closing in. They immediately thought of the scary rolls of thunder and the flashes of lightning, and refused to be caught outdoors when

they came.

"Uh oh," Brody would say to Bella, "Here they come again! I'm definitely not getting caught outside in the middle of this," as they scampered through the door that their owner left ajar and

hid under the bed.

Once the rains ended, they would happily go back outside and continue their afternoon ritual. The cycle continued until one day, their owner accidentally closed the door.

As Brody bolted towards the house, he realized that the door was closed, and started to panic.

"Bella!" he shrieked, "What are we going to do? The thunder

and lightning are coming!"

Being the protective and supportive sister she was, Bella ran

and met Brody on the patio. She bravely wrapped her arms around him as she said, "Don't worry, brother. I'll be here to

keep you safe so you have nothing to worry about."

Brody suddenly felt his fear dissipate as he cuddled into his

sister's arms.

"Oh, I'm so happy to have you here with me" he said to Bella. "Your love and protection have made me feel so safe in the midst of my greatest fears."

Moral: Be ready to show

support for the people around

you because you never know

when they will really need it.



The Protective PupBella and Brody Patrick thoroughly enjoyed each other's

company on those beautiful summer afternoons. They played and laughed together, never for a moment considering that one day

their commitment to each other would be put to the test.

When faced with the frightening prospect of being stuck outdoors

in the thunderstorm, Brody cowered with fear. Immediately, Bella saw an opportunity to protect her brother and allow him to feel

safe. Her sisterly love took over and she became Brody's saving grace.

Sometimes in life, you're called upon to play a role that requires courage, love, and support. You oftentimes don’t realize your

ability to be that supportive person until the situation calls for it.

It's important to be prepared for whatever situation life throws your way. When opportunities arise to showcase your strengths to help others, go after them with gusto. Set aside your own fears and

focus on helping the less fortunate.

Challenges have a funny way of bringing out the best in you. If

your gut tells you to act on behalf of someone who needs your help, follow it.

At the end of the day, you'll feel fulfilled when your act of love for someone else results in their peace of mind. Achieve your fullest

potential by being your brother's keeper. The blessings that arise from that are bound to exceed your wildest expectations.
