This semi-competitive league teaches skills and techniques of basketball. The older leagues will prepare the players for upcoming competitive school programs.

The younger leagues will focus on teaching basic skills and rules of the

game.

All Participants must show up for Basketball Evaluations. Players will be evaluated by

present and past coaches to create teams as equally as possible.

Thursday First Play Tennis Ages 5-14 First Play Tennis is for beginner to intermediate level. Program follows developmental curriculum and guide-lines laid out by the USTA, & includes their highly praised 10 and under tennis format. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of stroke production, court movement and footwork skills in a low pressured, yet energetic environment

Junior Team Tennis Ages 10-14

Tennis program provides premium instruction to experienced players looking to take their game to the next level. Along with professional coaching and evaluation, players will have the chance to compete against other Junior Tennis Teams and notified of local youth tennis tournaments. All players receive a playing polo shirt and 12 month junior USTA membership. Please note the Junior Team Tennis Program is for the serious player looking to compete within the sport, teams will play at least one competitive fixture within the season.

Parent & Me - Soccer Squirts Ages 2-3 Boys & Girls

A fun and positive introduction to soccer for children and their parents! With a parent participating by their side, kids will have fun learning soccer.

Soccer Squirts Ages 3-5 Boys & Girls

Soccer Squirts learn the fundamental skills of soccer through a program of structured activities, fun based games, and scrimmages.

T-Ball Squirts Ages 3-5 Boys & Girls T-Ball Squirts focuses on the fundamental skills of the game; including hitting, throwing, catching and running the bases. Our progressive T-Ball curriculum enables each child to develop their skills, and understanding of the game.

LEGO Robotics-Mindstorms (Grades 3-8)

Students will learn to design, program, and control fully functional robotic models. They will use

software to plan, test, and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behav-

iors. They will also learn to collect and analyze data from the robot’s sensors. This program will

provide a series of real-life activities, covering topics within science, technology, engineering, and

mathematics all using LEGO Robotics.

DAY/DATE: WEDNESDAY’S (9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4)

non-competitive, step by step process. After learning how to make a game, students will take a

home a copy of their final project to play at home.

Play Theater - Ages 6 to 10

If you want to be on Broadway, you’ll need to start with skills in singing, dancing and acting! This program will introduce basic theater per-forming skills through vocal and physical warmups, theater games, character and scene exercises as well as musical numbers. Course will commence with a performance for family and friends.

Winter Theater Production - Ages 6 to 14

Our group will be performing, “How To Eat Like A Child.” This ensemble piece includes featured spots for many children and will be a Delightful experience for kids and audiences alike. Auditions will take place 11/8 from 1-4pm at the Towne House in Green Forest Park. Cast members do not need to prepare anything in advance but should expect to stay the whole time.

online through our Community Pass

Registration system at www.scotchplainsnj.com or

through the Recreation Office.

Those individuals needing special accommodations should contact

the Recreation Department.

REFUND POLICY All programs are non-refundable, except in the event that a class is cancelled due to enrollment. Re-

funds are processed through town check

according to the Finance Department’s billing schedule.

Process for refunds typically take 4 –6 weeks.
