There’s even more terrain to find your freedom at The Remarkables in 2019, plus other nifty new developments

at the popular Queenstown ski field including snow shoeing tours and improved seating within the

restaurant.

• A new 160-metre covered long conveyor lift will access a whole new learners area, enhancing the progression from novice skier/boarder to catching the Alta beginner chairlift. This provides an increase of 30% in learners terrain.

• A new-era, fuel-efficient PB600 level red winch groomer fitted with V3 Snowsat will maximise snow cover and offer a closer “shave” of terrain.

•Reconfiguration of the kitchen to better meet lunchtime demands, including more efficient recycling, faster delivery of hot food and better seating areas.

• A $200,000 upgrade of the ski/board rental equipment fleet.

• More ski racks to accommodate all those skis/boards during the lunch influx.

• Exterior heating for the bus patrons departing the ski area on those cold July evenings.

• General signage improvements throughout the base lodge.

• New education panels for Kea conservation awareness as part of the mountain’s partnership with the Kea Conservation Trust

• The Kea Nest has had a makeover now with complete enclosure to reduce the distraction factor of our younger guests while in the

Mini Kea programme.

• Two brand new MAN 4WD buses to add to the fleet.

About UsThe famous Remarkables mountain range, located in the adventure capital of the world – Queenstown New Zealand, is where you’ll find your freedom. The Remarkables is a welcoming, adventurous ski field.

The Remarkables boasts three sun-drenched, north-facing, snow-filled bowls, seven terrain parks, including The Burton Stash, plus heaps of off-piste black runs and wide-open learner slopes. This is also the home of The North Face Frontier – a Freeride World Qualifier event, and a number of progression programs.

The Remarkables has 385 ha of skiable terrain, a 1943m elevation with a 468m vertical drop, and extensive state of the art snow-making to top up natural snow fall.

The Remarkables is a member of NZSki, alongside Coronet Peak and Mt Hutt, which regularly invests in technology, snow-making and trail development. NZSki is also a platinum partner of The Kea Conservation Trust. The Remarkables is also on the IKON Pass, a global

multi-resort snow pass.

• Member of IKON PASS, a group of the world’s 38 ski destinations.

• A member of NZSki offering discounts across Mt Hutt, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak.

• New base lodge (opened 2015) features decks on three sides, indoor seating, even more outdoor seating, a wide variety of grab ‘n go foods, healthy options and hearty meals on offer, and convenient direct access to the purpose-built beginners slope (three surface conveyor lifts) and to the Curvey Basin express chair lift.

• Capacity for 940 vehicles.

• Extensive freestyle features across seven dedicated terrain parks including the Burton Stash, one of only 6 in the world.

• Huge big mountain off-piste terrain with superb natural chutes and big open bowls.

General overviewTargeted opening date: Saturday 8 June, 2019Anticipated Closing Date: Sunday 13 October, 2019 (Subject to weather conditions).

Elevation: 1943m, 468m vertical drop.

Skiable Area: 385 hectares.

Lifts: 1 high-speed six-seater chair, 3 quad chairs, 4 surface conveyor lifts including a double coveredconveyor.

Average snowfall: 3.67m per annum (excl. snowmaking).

Snowmaking: Extensive automated system comprising 97 guns covering beginners’ area, Alta Green, Casterway, Gotham City, Curvey, Turquoise, Waterfall, and terrain parks.

Terrain: approx. 30% beginner, 40% intermediate, 30% advanced.

Access: 28km, 45min from Queenstown(10k sealed and 3 km unsealed access road)from Queenstown.

Transport: Multiple daily bus services on Skibusfrom the Snow Centre with pick up and pre–arranged hotel picks up enroute.

Mini Kea Programme: Ages 4-5yrs.

Kea Club programme: Ages 5 -17yrs.
