The Our Father: the Summary of the Gospel (Catechist: TBD)

A close look at what is contained in the seven petitions of the Our Father, and what this tells us

about the prayer of the Christian

The ROSARY…and Our Lady of LourdesThis coming Saturday, February 11th, is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. On this date in 1858, the

first of nineteen apparitions by Our Blessed Mother to a poor, humble, fourteen-year-old girl named Bernadette Soubirous took place. During the ninth apparition on Thursday, February 25, 1858, Our Blessed Mother asked for an act of total faith and abandonment of reason in favor of PURE FAITH. She told Bernadette to “go and wash and drink in the spring.” But, there was no spring! As Mary directed, Bernadette knelt down on the sandy ground and began to dig out a hole. Miraculously, water began to gush forth as Mary had foretold and the rest is history. The water flows to this day. Millions of faithful believers from all around the world continue to come to this miraculous spring to pray in an act of

humility and penance. Mary stressed the IMPORTANCE OF DOING PENANCE in the apparitions. Countless miracles have taken place over the years. Scientists have never been able to explain the instantaneous cure of cancer, tuberculosis, blindness, debilitated and deformed bodies, etc. Rosary Novenas of thanksgiving are constant. On your computer, visit the EWTN website to read and learn about the message of Lourdes.Remember, you and your family are always invited to take part in our weekly Rosary for Peace, every Saturday at 4:35 p.m., just before Mass.
