Main Events in the story
1.The family had an invalid child.
2.They named him William Armstrong.
3.They changed his name to “Doodle”.
4.The narrator started to hang out with his brother
and they go to the old woman swamp.
5.The narrator taught Doodle how to walk and he
trained him hardly.
6.Doodle got weaker and died.
The Plot and main conflictsThe issue is that the narrator is ashamed or embarrassed of Doodle because of its being distinct, so that’s why he taught him how to walk, run, swim, fight, like regular people do.
He was so mean with Doodle and he hated him.
Bad luck
There is a connection between the scarlet ibis and Doodle, when
the bird died it was a bad luck for doodle ,so the resolution is the
death of Doodle.
Climax Doodle’s brother trained him so hard, and he didn’t care
about Doodle’s bad situation. So, Doodle got tired from
that training. At the end of the day, it started raining
and the narrator and doodle had to run but Doodle cant,
the narrator started running and left Doodle alone while
Doodle is shouting “don’t leave me brother!!!” but the
narrator didn’t listen. Doodle died at the end.
