(hat are per$eiving is, instead, an illusion that interfa$es 0ith reality. 'hat is be$ause the sub$ons$ious mind not only uses energy in the most eMi$ient 0ay imaginable, it doesn@t use energy at all. #t doesn@t need to. #t only needs to appro.imate something and then intera$t 0ith this representation. 'he fe0er ultimate representations there are for things the less intera$tions that are needed until 0e rea$h nothing-in-particular. *verything that e.ists, in$luding 0hat 0e $onsider reality, is a purposeful illusion that is meant to provide the means for something far more real to $ome into being& relationships.'o illustrate this tri$: of the mind more simply let@s imagine that you are loo:ing at a digital photo that you too: of a good friend of yours. 'he image obviously represents your friend and is, 0ithout Buestion it seems, the person that you :no0 so 0ell. 'he image $aptures as many of her beauties and imperfe$tions as any image $an. (hat 0e :no0 as reality is a$tually representation.! Reality, for all intents and purposes, does not e.ist as 0e :no0 it. #llusion is the only reality that 0e $an :no0 of anything. 'hat 0e $an get valid feedba$: from illusions tells us that the illusion is real enough, good enough for 0hatever 0e 0ant to do, and is li:ely an interfa$e 0ith something greater.Reality is an illusion that ma:es sense and $an intera$t 0ithin itself. #n this 0ay, illusions allo0 us our only interfa$e 0ith 0hat is true.2 (e@ll get into 0hy spa$e isn@t e.a$tly empty Fnot be$ause of ele$tromagneti$ and other fieldsG be$ause there is nosu$h spa$e, later.! All is a field of representations in the geometry of perspe$tive that 0e $all reality. 'a:e a0ay the representation, ho0ever, and the system 0ill still fun$tion be$ause it is not reality that $ontrols the system but the illusion.15 6ou don@t need to :no0 how a mouse 0or:s in order to do amazing things 0ith it. 6ou need only use it in a $ertain 0ay. 'hat is, you only need to 0or: 0ith the representations in a $ertain 0ay to form other relationships& the mouse $li$:ing the i$on, for e.ample. Aortunately, the mouse has a physi$al stru$ture builtEin to allo0 it to 0or: and allo0 us to intera$t 0ith other aspe$ts of our physi$al perspe$tive.#f you sho0ed a mouse to a roomful of people 0ho had never before heard of or seen a mouseand you told them 0hat it $ould do, some people might start 0riting 0ith it to ma:e it do thethings you said 0hile others might pi$: it up and hold it to their ear and tal:. *veryone in theroom might thin: you@re a bit $razy if they 0eren@t a0are of ho0 to logi$ally interfa$e 0ith the $apa$ity of the mouse in their reality.#f someone 0as :een to use it properly based on the instru$tions provided then they 0ould belearning ho0 to ma:e the representations 0or: for them. 'o others, it 0ould seem li:e magi$.'he representations around you form relationships that are your reality. 6ou don@t remember something be$ause it@s stored in your mind. 6ou remember it be$ause of the mental map of representations that you are 0or:ing 0ith. 'a:e a0ay the relationships and you have no memory be$ause there is nothing to intera$t 0ith for the memory to be per$eived.1id you ever have a memory of something that didn@t really happen- Or maybe you visited some0here for the first time that you $ould have s0orn felt e.a$tly li:e a pla$e in another $ity. %erhaps you smelled something that brought ba$: old memories, or met someone that reminded you of someone else. %erhaps you sa0 something you@ve never seen before and intuitively :ne0 about it. %erhaps 0e are tal:ing about d+,- vu again# 'his is thin:ing past the representations you are e.perien$ing and sensing the relationships. 'o your sub$ons$ious,t0o things that loo: diMerent $ould be the same thing if the relationship is the same.'hese relationships form and reform your memories and e.perien$e at every moment. Aortunately, our memories of the past seem very $onsistent, and our $urrent reality seems 15 'he interse$tion of t0o illusions, or %otentials, is reality, and therefore the illusions N$ontrolO reality. Aor e.ample,ta:ing a0ay the nu$leus of a $ell Fits supposed V$ommand $enterVG 0ill have no eMe$t, and it 0ill $ontinue to fun$tion as normal.!0stable enough. ?ut 0hy does our reality seem $onsistent despite all the $haos des$ribed here-(e are a$tually per$eiving relationships rather than the physi$al obLe$ts and events. 'he partof us that is a0are right no0 interprets these relationships in a 0ay that ma:es sense. 'his e.ploration is not so mu$h $reating $ons$iousness as being $ons$ious. #f one thing relates to something else then it is $ons$ious. 'he $ons$iousness, of $ourse, is not $reated from the things themselves but from the relationships bet0een the things.#n life, it is of no parti$ular importan$e 0hat :ind of relationships 0e e.plore. (e $reate relationships in order to e.ist, not to ma:e e.isten$e be8er. 'he metaphysi$al relationship someone $reates 0ith their 0indo0 $ould be the same as the metaphysi$al relationship someone else has 0ith their pipe. 3omeone $ould lose a son and develop a stronger relationship 0ith a neighbor@s nephe0. Nevermind these things you $annot see. (hat ma8ersis the harmony in the relationships that are around us. 'he reality that results from one thingrelating 0ith another thing $an be interpreted as happiness, sadness, fire, pen$ils, $oo:ies, faith, beliefs, et$., depending on the balan$e For type of harmonyG bet0een the things relating. ?ut 0e need not 0orry about ho0 0e are relating to things that 0e 0ant or don@t 0ant. #t 0ould be easier, and perhaps more eMe$tive, to $onsider the things in our immediate reality that 0e are relating to more $losely.?e$ause a representation is a standEin for something else, and that something else is a standEin for something else, and so on, 0e may never :no0 0hat something represents. (e $an, ho0ever, ta:e a loo: at 0hat something relates to, and then try to figure out intuitively the relationships that may $ome about from intera$ting 0ith it. Although 0e per$eive these things in a 0ay that is relative to us and spread out logi$ally in a field of spa$etime 0e are a$tually per$eiving every relationship simultaneously.!1(hen you are si8ing in your living room, the universe e.ists FliterallyG 0ithin the entirety of your perspe$tive. 'his is be$ause every relationship that e.ists is represented in your perspe$tive. At that moment there is nothing outside of your living room For even behind youG until you per$eive it. 'he reality of everything else is N$ontainedO in the relationships andour interpretations of those relationships.17 'he sound of a dog bar:ing implies that a physi$al dog is there, but again it is a representation. 'he bar:ing sound may not be from thesame metaphysi$al relationship as a physi$al dog, be$ause you are not intera$ting or relating to the sound as you are the dog.As 0e $annot per$eive of a NNothingO 0e separate the nothingness into a seemingly infinite variety of representations in order that 0e may try to per$eive of Nothing from it.1" (e reEpresent and interpret Nothing in order to e.ist, though it $annot a$tually represented or interpreted so 0e get a seemingly infinite variety of %otentials and representations and a seemingly endless universe.'his trial at Vper$eiving nothingV is 0hat may appear as per$eption of VhereV and Vno0V. At ea$h moment the entire universe is $reated ane0 be$ause ea$h moment is a representation ofthe interpretation of Nothing.*verything that e.ists is represented in your $urrent perspe$tive. Ne0 6or: City, for e.ample, does not need to e.ist until you per$eive it. 6et, you $an never per$eive it in its entirety be$ause its entirety is not there. 6ou are only per$eiving the representations& a photo of Ne0 6or:, the name VNe0 6or:V, the idea of Ne0 6or:, et$. 'hese representations may hold the same relationships as the $ity itself, be$ause any of those representations $ould have the others eMi$iently Npa$:edO into it, li:e a fra$tal.#n this 0ay every representation is li:e a holographi$ memory file that $ontains other representations. 'hey are all representative of relationships, a;er all, so ta:e up no spa$e or time.(hen you loo: at the moon or distant gala.ies For something or someone elseG you are interpreting relationships. 1istan$e in spa$e or time is Lust the logi$al pla$ement of something in our perspe$tive. A distant planet or person is rarely as relative as the somethingthat is $loser to us. #f you have Lust landed on planet /ars, for e.ample, you 0ill represent *arth someho0 Fperhaps 0ith pi$tures, or in your mindG and these ne0 representations of *arth $ould be$ome more relative to your perspe$tive than the physi$al *arth itself.
