Thank you for picking up this new edition of our Forthcoming Attraction Brochure. Key to the winter season is our annual pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starring Denise Nolan and Daniel Singh (“Warrior” in Sky One’s Gladiators). In May we introduced Tuesday Matinee Classic Movies and these have proved enormously successful with a dedicated band of regular customers attending. This has now been added as a regular event at The Spa and will continue every Tuesday from now on. In October we will be welcoming back Musicport and Scooter Rally; two huge events for Bridlington -

both enhanced this year by the use of “Pembroke Gardens” and the Promenade - as refurbished under the Spa Gardens scheme. We also have Joe Bonamassa, the American Blues Rock Guitarist appearing for the first time and for comedy lovers we have Mark Little in Defending the Caveman and the regular favourite Ken Dodd’s Happiness Show. The winter programme will draw to a close in March with the spectacular Elvis Weekender keep an eye out for Elvis’s appearances at taster events over the coming months. Once again, thank you for choosing to read this brochure and I look forward to seeing you soon.

@ The Spa Events Defending The Caveman

Direct from London’s West End, Defending The Caveman starring Mark Little - winner of the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 2000 - is set to storm the UK once again!

The longest running solo play in Broadway history, Defending The Caveman has become a worldwide hit. Why do men and women misunderstand each other? The truth of course can be traced back to the Caveman. This hilariously funny but horribly truthful show affectionately brings the basic differences between men and women brilliantly up to date.

During the Great War, Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium, a few short miles behind the front line, became a haven for thousands of allied troops – a ‘home from home’ where they enjoyed some home comforts and remembered the men that they really were. Run by a diminutive chaplain named Tubby Clayton the house became known by its army signaller’s code of Toc H and ultimately would be the inspiration for the association with that name.

This play, written by Peter Gill and aimed at a family audience, recreates the humour, music and wonderful atmosphere of this inspirational house.
