Alignment with State Standards The Styer-Fitzgerald Program for Functional Academics (SFFA) helps teachers create rigorous and challenging learning opportunities for students with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities, including autism. This type of learning environment makes it possible for students to achieve ability-appropriate success in meeting relevant standards, like the Common Core State Standards or other state-developed standards. In addition, many states successfully align the SFFA goals and objectives to document levels of performance on their alternate assessments based on alternate academic achievement standards.

This data-rich program allows teachers to collect, analyze, and access data in real time to make formative instructional decisions and increase student achievement. In fact, many of our school districts report that familiarity with the structure of the Styer-Fitzgerald Program data methods spills over to other areas of instruction, including state and district mandated assessments. Districts report that utilizing the Styer-Fitzgerald Program improves data collection, decreases intimidation with data analysis, and increases effectiveness when analyzing data and making instructional adjustments.

Furthermore, comprehensive data collection provides ample opportunities for teachers and other service providers to uncover methods and supports to increase student achievement.
