Managing Trustee

Prof. S. Ganesan, Director of the Institute, carries with him more

than three decades of active engagement in teaching, research, and

academic administration. Creating long-lasting academic systems,

and faculty mentoring are his forte. The academic systems designed

by him are inclusive in character, and have built-in mechanisms for

active consultations with all stakeholders. He has completed two

post-doctoral research studies, and successfully guided 32 doctoral

research works of his scholars. He has completed two major consultancy assignments.

Prof. Ganesan, whose specialisations are Finance and Entrepreneurship, has authored

10 books, and published/presentated more than 50 research papers. He is a recipient of

Teaching Excellence Award from Alagappa University, and ICSSR Award for his rst

book titled, 'Indian Publishing Industry'.

The Centre for Leadership Development of Firebird is a training platform to hone the leadership

skills of executives across all levels of industry. This is the rst Centre established in Firebird.

Inaugurated in January 2016, the Centre has conducted, as at the end of December 2016,

50 programmes for shop oor employees, 32 for middle level executives, and 4 programmes for

top-level management. Apart from customised Executive Development Programmes that are

especially conducted for executives of a single client company, the Centre is also conducting

Open Programmes for participation by executives across various companies.

Understanding the role of teachers as academic leaders, the Centre is also conducting Faculty

Development Programmes for teachers with the objective of helping them improve

teaching-learning process.

Leadership Exploration and Awakening Programme (LEAP)

LEAP is one of the agship programmes of the Centre for Leadership Development.

There is an apparent need for learning to create a compelling blueprint for everybody's life, and

to achieve the goals that one has always desired for. This learning can be realised through a

comprehensive step-by-step process which empowers the learner control every aspect of

personal and professional life.

LEAP is designed to full this learning need that results in liberating the hidden leadership

power, and creating a rewarding future.

Self awareness: Your rst step to master and lead yourself before you can lead others

LEAP is structured by renowned industrial leaders who have proved their mark in their

professional careers. LEAP has the following four technical sessions delivered in a day.

Centre for Management StudiesThe Centre for Management Studies of Firebird is offering its two-year

MBA/Post Graduate Programme in Management. The MBA/PGDM of Firebird is fully

linked with industry. Every student of the Programme would work under the mentorship

of a corporate executive. The student would learn practical side of Management from the

corporate mentor throughout the two years of the study.

The Internship in industry effectively commences for all Firebird students from the rst

day of their study. While the students internalise management concepts from faculty

members, they would get exposed to the practice of management through their

corporate mentors.

Emotional Intelligence: You will use appropriate leadership styles according to various traits of people with different temperaments and emotions

Highly experienced Behavioural & Leadership Trainers are on the roles of Firebird. Apart

from the Core Team of Trainers, the centre involves top of the line Corporate Trainers for

specic programmes.

The MBA/PGDM Programme of Firebird consists of four Semesters. The Programme offers

Business Research Centre of Firebird Institute of Research in Management provides

professional research assistance to business & industry on points referred by the client

companies. The BRC has the capability to take up business research assignments in the

broad areas of Business Strategy, Marketing of FMCG & Capital Goods, Financial

Management, Productivity, and Human Resources Management. The duration of each

research assignment varies on the basis of research issues given by client companies.

Lead Researchers

A team of Lead Researchers of the Institute pilots all research assignments assigned to

Firebird. The Core Team, in consultation with the client companies, formulates the

research methodology, constructs data collection tools, analyses & interprets the data, and

prepares research reports for presentation to the clients. The BRC has a battery of

Enumerators for collection of primary data, under the strict quality norms of BRC.

The Enumerators utilised by BRC are seasoned investigators, and are spread across States

of Tamilnadu and Kerala. BRC can engage Enumerators in all other States of the country,

if required.

Business Research Centre

Programme Structure Corporate MentorsThe MBA/PGDM of Firebird is fully driven by corporate executives who are Corporate Mentors to the students. Students start interacting with their respective corporate mentors from the rst day of their study. Every corporate mentor chooses the student through a personal interview for mentoring. The continuous evaluation of students by corporate mentors has due weightage in the overall assessment of each and every student.

PlacementsPlacement Preparation Programme and Life-skill Development Programme are interwoven in the MBA/PGDM curriculum at Firebird. The Institute has entered into collaboration with industry leaders for providing the best and wide opportunities for placement.
