For lunch the irishman doesn't eat very much, because he had a big breakfast early in the morning, something he used to eat something very fast.

At Christmas …The majority of Irish families are christians , It is also for this, that there are strong believers.After Christmas, there are 11 days of feasts after the epiphany . This period is called : “ The twelve days of the Christmas ”.

These Christmas traditions are used also in the western countries.

In the families it is tradition to put next to the windows the candles that will be turned on in the evening of Christmas.

In some parts of Ireland is used to open all the doors of the house at midnight to let “enter” the new year, and makes noise banging kitchen utensils or the house in order to drive away evil spirits during the transition from the old to the new year.

Also Irish families celebrate the epiphany also called “ Little Christmas ” or“ Woman’s Christmas ”. They cook cakes and special biscuits and they light twelve candles in honor of the twelve apostles of Jesus .Later the coins are wrapped in baking paper and are inserted between the potatoes to be found by children.
