Time is at a tipping point. In our generation, we’ll witness a series of imminent prophetic events that will trigger the end of the age. But it’s not something to fear—Bible prophecy is a gift from God. It reveals what will happen when the tipping point of time has been reached and how we can prepare for it.

• The Seven Days of Creation as a Prophetic Parallel The Lord’s coming will be declared ahead of time for believers. It’s been suggested that the seven days of creation parallel the generations of mankind. The Bible states that a thousand years is as a day for God. Based on that, we have just entered into year 6,000 of mankind, and soon we will enter into the time of Christ’s return, which will parallel the seventh day of creation when God rested.

• Counting the Calendar Years in Light of the End Times We know from the detailed genealogies in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke that there were approximately 4,000 years from Adam to Christ and 2,000 from Christ until present. Thus, we are around the year 6,000. We are now at the tipping point when all of the signs of the end times are occurring or being set up.

• Prophetic Symbols in Scripture Jesus said that in the end times, it will be like it was in the days of Noah. People were getting married, having children, and going about business as usual. Jesus drew a direct parallel. Jesus said when believers begin to see the signs that have been foretold, we are to, “Look up! For your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28). We are children of God, and He does not want His children to be caught off guard. We are to live for Jesus and tell others about Him.

*Group Dynamics Idea* Take a moment to reflect on all God has done in your individual lives and your group over the past semester. Give an opportunity for anyone who wants to renew their commitment to Jesus. Pray for one another to have boldness during the end times to be light and salt to those around us.

1. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1–5. What do you think these verses are saying? Should it apply to individual believers? If so, how would that look in our lives?

2. What are some of the signs God has ordained for the end times? Do you feel we are at the end of the age? If so, how did you come to the belief?

3. Read Luke 17:26–27. What did Jesus mean in this verse and how does the time of Noah parallel our present day?

4. When you think about Christ’s soon coming return, how do you feel? (Excitement, dread, fear, concern, anticipation?) Share.

5. How can we, as believers, be a light on a hill to the world around us? What does it look like on a day-to-day basis in our lives to be salt and light to the world?

6. How can we be a support to other believers to be strong in the Lord during the time that we are living?

As we conclude, remember the following: • Jesus is returning soon. • God has declared the end from the beginning. • Bible prophecy is a sign for the believer of Christ’s return.

Heavenly Father, thank You that You know the end from the beginning. Thank You that we are not going to be caught off guard during the end times. Please help us to daily look up and to be expectant for Christ’s return. Allow us to be bold witnesses for the sake of the gospel and for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
