The Presidents Comment Corner APRIL 2013

Seems like the months are just flying by this year, here we are in April already!

The activity around the club has been busy and should really start heating up

with upcoming races and events.

The Fly’ N AshFast Event is just two month away and the Helifreak Event is in

October with some Turn & Burn Racing mixed in just to keep us busy.

The Secretary’s position has always been a difficult and time consuming position

for one person to manage as a volunteer. We have decided to split up some of the

disciplines of the position amongst several members. Linda Kingston has taken

over as the Editor of the Newsletter, Danny Day has agreed to be the Webmaster

for the clubs website, www.ashcreekrcflyers.com , and Russ Deedon has stepped

back up to the plate as the Secretary of the Club. I personally want to send out a

big thanks to all three for your efforts and dedication. Linda, Danny & Russ

Ed Heinzel our Treasurer and myself along with some coaching from Ron Hel-

derman (retired CPA and past club treasurer), are in the process of switching the

books for the club over to Quickbooks Pro 2013 for managing our bookkeeping.

Over that past few months we have been trying to gather a complete list of our

current and active members mailing and contact information to enter into our

new system. I am attaching the most recent list of our paid members for 2013 to

the end of this Newsletter. Every new system has its problems getting started so if

your name is not on the current roster let me know. We are requiring a current

mailing address, phone, email (if available), and current AMA #. Contact me

Our next club meeting will be April 4th, at our usual meeting place, Round Table

Pizza in the Shasta Mall. Hope you can make it.

March 2013 Meeting Minutes

Meeting Called to Order at 7:01 p.m. A Motion was made to approve February Minutes from the Newsletter. The motion was seconded. 15 Members were present. Treasurer’s Report: Savings $5089.20 Checking $3642.93

Discussion ensued regarding amount of dues collected so far this year. Discussed whether Danny Day has time to do the Secretary job. Jim Finch suggested we pursue signs for businesses to advertise at the field to raise money and drive some additional revenue. He suggested $200 per year. Discussion took place regarding the Fly’n Ash Fast Race to secure more details regarding T-Shirts, Raf-fle and Food. Proceeds go to club. Helifreak is coming in October. Russ Deedon would like to launch Rockets at Field on April 27

th for Boy Scouts. A motion was made and

seconded – all were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
