Tutu Project, el poder de la risa ante el cáncer de mama

Ante un diagnóstico de cáncer, la vida cambia profundamente de un momento a otro. Además de la atención médica, el papel de la familia es fundamental durante y después del tratamiento. Eso lo sabe Linda Carey, quien en 2012 a pesar de la difícil noticia de saber que padecía cáncer de mama continuó sonriendo… gracias a su esposo.

Se trata de Bob Carey, un hombre que ha enfrentado al cáncer de la mano de su mujer. Consciente del motor de vida que representa la risa, el hombre tomó su cámara fotográfica, tomó un tutú de ballet y se retrató semidesnudo en diversos lugares del mundo. La intención: hacer reír a su esposa.

Ahora, ambos son los fundadores de Tutu Project, una iniciativa que busca enfrentar un difícil diagnóstico de una manera poco seria. Cada año, según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, se diagnostican cerca de 1.7 millones de casos.

El resultado de estas fotos se ha materializado en un libro llamado Ballerina,,cuyas ganancias irán destinadas a organizaciones en pro de la lucha contra el cáncer de mama.
