As the season moved forwards and with a tremendous amount of dedication and commitment to training from the boys, the team made their way up the Pot C ladder, winning game after game. The boys developed great comradely, brilliant football skills and fundamentally more importantly of all, the enjoyment of playing football. This was evidenced most through a very late goal scored by Dillon Floyd in late December 2014, early one very cold Sunday morning, in what turned out to be a 4-5 away win against a team very close tothe U7’s in the SPL.
The coaches Laurence and Richard dedicated many cold and wet Saturday mornings (thanks to the hot, skinny, caramel latte’s provided by Richard’s wife Sandra) throughout the winter months to develop this young team and come January 2015 the Lammas Under 7s The boys were also joined by new U7’s and moved up to Pot B where they were often U6’s teams, who without question, shone in challenged, but proudly shone, through to their opening matches, having been the ending of the season wining their final coached by Damien Clarke, Mick McCarthy match of the season 2-7 away from home. and Jonny Randle. 2014/15 Players: Robbie Aquilina, Isaac Carroll, Jack Dowling, Zachery Fernandes, Dillon Floyd, James Mostyn, Joseph Morris, Larry Haxton-Smith, Noah Benedict.
In the beginning:The Staines Town Tournament in June 2014 marked the beginning of the Lammas under 7s team, where a group of young boys were put together having almost never played a non-competitive game of football and were about to show an amazing improvement, within a short period of time.
Larry Haxton-Smith scored the teams 1st goal and would go on to become the team’s most improved player and the team Captain for the 2015/16 season.
From that point on, the boys began their 1st season in the SPL in the September of 2014, having been seeded in Pot C of a 5 tier league. As the momentum grew and the news spread throughout the young boys friends, there was the addition of one further boy to the team, James Mostyn.
Again James would go to score 40 goals in his debut season and receive an award of Manger’s Player of the season, recognition for his great achievements.

The Lovely Liberty
If you have not heard of Liberty yet, let us introduce this local inspiration. Liberty Grant had the dream that many young girls have – to sing, but for this talented twelve year-old her dream is coming true.
Launching into the world of music at age nine Liberty took part in her first talent competition and needless to say, she won. From there she took her next challenge with TeenStar, TeenStar is a national singing competition specifically for teen and pre-teen singers, duos, vocal groups, rappers and solo artists in the UK.
The singing competition attract over 8,000 acts each year, Liberty took part in auditions alongside these thousands of unsigned singers across the UK and impressed the TeenStar judging panel to battle through both the Regional and Area final heats.
Although still very young, Liberty has performed at the NEC Birmingham, Lords Cricket Ground, Trafalgar Square and Kempton Park and many top London establishments to name a few, gaining
rave reviews along the way. She can often be heard on many Radio stations especially now her debut EP LOUDER has now been released and being well received by many.
As she becomes known in the music industry, this young star doesn’t forget who she is and where she came from. She has a strong family and friends network behind her and recently she treated her Ashford fans to an afternoon of singing entertainment for all ages. Her inspirations came from stars such as Adele and Jessie J and now she herself is inspiring her budding fans.
Liberty’s TeenStar audition will see her perform at the Grand Final at The NEC in Birmingham on 25th July where the grand finalists will fight to be crowned the winner of TeenStar 2015.
12 I
TeenStar is brought to you by Future Music, the company behind the discovery of artists such as Luke Friend and Karen Hardy both of which have had chart success this year, Jacob Banks, Warner Music’s Birdy, Columbia Record’s Lucy Spraggan, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and Jahmene Douglas, both of which are now signed to Sony Music. The winner of this year’s competition will receive a £5,000 development and management advance - good luck Liberty!
As Liberty learns and grows on her career path the future holds many exciting things for this confident, young star. Ashford has already produced one X-factor winner, who is to say that another is already on the way. Watch this space.

An intimate relationship will give you tremendous pleasure in early August. If you're not in a relationship, this is the perfect time to find romance. Ask a friend to set you up on a blind date. A teaching, writing, or research job will be a welcome division on or around the 7th. If there's anything you enjoy, it's digging up interesting facts and figures. Don't be surprised when your popularity soars at mid-month. Word has spread of your talent. The New Moon on the 14th is perfect for taking a class on money management. Learning how to maximise your financial resources will help you afford more luxuries. Be sure to negotiate a raise in the second half of August, when your powers of persuasion will be at an all time high. The Full Moon on the 29th warns of putting too much pressure on your best friend, lover, or business partner.
A festive party gives early August a glamorous feel. Be sure to wear something special to this glittering occasion, as all eyes will be on you. After this big bash, you'll feel inclined to spend more time on solitary pursuits. Reading, writing, music and prose will bring great happiness in mid-August. You might even decide to decline some invitations so you'll have more time for creative work. The New Moon on the 14th is perfect for joining a humanitarian organisation. Working on behalf of a charity will put life in perspective. Problems won't seem so difficult when you are focused on helping underprivileged people. The Full Moon on the 29th brings a health problem to light. If you're going to get better, you will have to improve your diet, become more active and get more sleep. Old habits will die hard. Eventually, you'll feel the benefits of your new regime and wonder why you ever resisted it.
It becomes easier to exercise your authority in the opening days of August. Prepare to face off with an overambitious authority figure on the 3rd. It will be your job to bring this cock eyed optimist back down to Earth. Teamwork takes on an increasing importance in mid-August. Be prepared to adjust your methods to suit the group during this energetic time. The New Moon on the 14th helps you land a high profile job. Your responsibilities will be varied and unusual, which is very stimulating. The second half of August proves quite sociable. Be sure to attend as many parties as possible. Spending time with friends helps put your life in a healthier perspective. The Full Moon on the 29th brings an end to a troubled romance. Although you're sad to part ways, it's a relief to escape all the fighting. If you're single, you may decide to abandon a creative pursuit that has been giving you grief.
Don't question your abilities in early August, when a teacher pokes fun at your unorthodox methods. There is a method to your madness. Anybody who has worked with you can attest to your expertise. You'll be able to demonstrate your talent on the 4th, when you're asked to make a public presentation. This demonstration will be a resounding success, although one of your peers will become quite jealous. Career opportunities will become more readily available in mid-August, when you're offered at least one high powered job. The New Moon on the 14th is perfect for accepting a plum position that allows you tremendous creative freedom. Your leadership ability will be applauded on the 23rd, when you're put in charge of an important project. The Full Moon on the 29th prompts you to spend more time on domestic pursuits. A child needs your help with a difficult situation. This may require you to spend fewer hours at the office.
Friends will help with heavy responsibilities at the beginning of August. If you need assistance, just ask for it. Don't be too hard on yourself if a meeting goes sour on the 3rd. There are certain relationships that are just not meant to be. You'll have to force yourself to be more outgoing than usual during the first half of August, especially if you want to make important business contacts. Opportunities to travel, write and study will arise on or around the 11th. If you get a chance to expand your horizons, seize it. The New Moon on the 14th brings money from a refund, inheritance, or legal settlement. Put this money towards a computer or smartphone. Try not to be defensive with an authority figure during the second half of August. Their questions are aimed at finding your strengths and weaknesses. The Full Moon on the 29th marks the end of a friendship with an overly demanding person.
Responsibilities at work increase in early August. You actually enjoy presiding over a big project, although it means keeping close tabs on rebellious staff members. A generous grant, scholarship, or legal settlement becomes available near the 11th, allowing you to afford more luxuries. This would be a wonderful time to go back to education and get an advanced degree. The New Moon on the 14th signals a romantic interlude. Pamper your amour with gifts, loving gestures and affectionate words. Are you single? You could meet someone special at an impromptu party. Be sure to accept a last minute invitation. A friend will invite you along on a holiday or shopping spree on the 19th. A good time will be had by all. Be sure to take plenty of photos, as you'll want to remember this wonderful time. The Full Moon on the 29th brings about an ethical dilemma. Obey your conscience.
Help from religious, educational and cultural leaders becomes more readily available in early August. If you're dealing with a bureaucratic nightmare, reach out to a person who is well respected in your community. A massage or spa treatment will feel wonderful on the 4th. Go ahead and splurge on a little self pampering. Your best friend or lover becomes much more attentive near the 11th, relieving you of chores and helping ease your anxieties. The New Moon on the 14th is perfect for launching a fitness regime. Take more time out of your schedule to prepare healthy meals with fresh ingredients. The second half of August proves very productive, when you're able to team up with a creative colleague. The two of you make a fantastic team and will produce impressive results. The Full Moon on the 29th prompts you to attend to some personal needs that aren't being met by a partner.
FOR August
LEO By Astrologer Russell Grant
Resist the urge to rush an intimate relationship in the opening days of August. Winning someone's trust will take time and patience. A generous relative will give financial or practical support during the first half of the month. Go ahead and accept what is being offered, whether it's a loan, sound advice, or some childcare. Your health gets a big boost near the 11th. There's never been a better time to launch a fitness programme, go on a diet, or practice relaxation techniques. Work will become a lot more pleasant around this date, too. The New Moon on the 14th invites you to go on a romantic break. If you're creative, take this opportunity to launch a novel, start a painting, or practice your dance moves. Any artistic endeavour is good at the end of August. The Full Moon on the 29th will bring a shocking secret to light. Prepare to change your opinion about a fellow worker you have always trusted.
It will be easier to get help from your best friend, lover, or business partner in the early days of August. All the hostility and resentment that has been brewing will magically disappear. Plan an enjoyable family reunion for the first half of the month. It will be especially good to reunite with a relative who always makes you laugh. Your love life will get a big boost around this time. If you're single, you'll meet someone special through work or at the gym. Do you already have a partner? Launch a creative endeavour with your amour. The New Moon on the 14th could prompt you to make changes to your domestic routine. This is a great time to find a roommate, expand your property, or welcome a relative into your home. Be sure to attend a friend's birthday party towards the end of August, or an angry encounter will ensue.
Travelling with a group will be lots of fun in the beginning of August. You're bound to encounter a few surprises along the way, but they will be pleasant ones. Always use a respectful tone with an older colleague in the first half of the month, or the atmosphere will become tense. Mid-August you'll be able to spend more quality time at home, which is music to your family's ears. If you live far from kin, plan a reunion before the month is over. The New Moon on the 14th will prompt you to take an art class. You're bound to make at least one unusual friend through your studies. The second half of August is perfect for expanding your home or finding a bigger place to live. Don't assume your boss will grant a request for time off at the end of the month. Your services may be needed.
Your self esteem will be low in the opening days of August. Don't confuse your personal self worth with the amount of money in your bank account. It is impossible to put a price on your humour, wisdom and compassion. A beautiful gift will find its way into your hands during the first half of the month. Don't put this token away for special occasions; use it on a regular basis. Be sure to sign up for a class on the 11th; your studies will bring you a great deal of happiness. The New Moon on the 14th is perfect for improving your financial fortunes. Don't be surprised if you get a raise or are awarded a lucrative job. The Full Moon on the 29th will force you to defend your beliefs to a sceptical relative or colleague. Try not to get too personal when making your case. Better yet, just don't discuss such a personal issue.
Resist the urge to talk about your private life with family in the beginning of August. A conservative relative won't approve of your freewheeling behaviour. You'll get an opportunity to display your talent on the 4th, which makes you glow with excitement. Finding new sources of income will be easier as you approach mid-month. The New Moon on the 14th is good for updating your look, getting a spa treatment and indulging your sensual side. The second half of August is the best time of the year to ask for a raise. Back up your arguments with plenty of facts and figures. The Full Moon on the 29th warns against buying things on credit. If you take extra steps to conserve your resources, you'll avoid a great deal of financial problems. Focus on living beneath your means. The money you save will sustain you through lean times. It will also give you an extra measure of freedom.

Ashford on the Map Summer Fun Day 2015
Bumper crowds turn out for Ashford on the Map 11th Annual Fun Day!
Up to 6000 people turned out this year and what a fun day it was. The Event, held a Brooklands college, Church Rd, is a self-funded event and is always well attended by the local and wider community.
Spelthorne gymnastics gave the crowds an amazing show along with many others, including the falconry display, there really was something for everyone.
Barry Muggeridge, deputy chairman of Ashford on the map said the success of the event was down to keeping it family orientated.
Money raised from the day goes towards funding future events as well as investing in and up keeping of hanging baskets in and around the Town as well as other local projects, including The Remembrance Day Parade.
The Christmas event is next on the calendar, to keep up with all the information you can check out the website:

Some of the teams work include the banners erected on the high street. Ashford Pride team spokesman, Barry Muggeridge, is quoted saying “There are a lot of vehicles passing through Ashford, going somewhere without realising what Ashford has to offer. So by having these banners, hopefully it will remind people of the diversity of businesses and services that are available for them in our town. Our objective is to promote our town.”

Celine Bopp is a Freelance Make Up Artist and Beauty Therapist based in London, living right here on our doorstep. Celine started her career 15 years ago working on board Royal Caribbean five-star cruise liners and travelling the world. She now works mainly in the fashion industry. For the past eight years she has been involved with London and Paris Fashion weeks, various magazines, television and has also worked with a whole host of celebrities for red carpet events. Celine enjoys what she does “My passion lies in the beauty industry and I am greatly into health and wellness, as well as helping others. I am privileged to be affiliated with a vegan certified skincare company and am an independent consultant with Arbonne International. I am able to provide pure, safe and beneficial skincare, cosmetics and nutrition. Its all of my passions rolled into one and I hope you enjoy the read.”
Please feel free to get in touch with Celine if you have any questions, advice or requests, [email protected] or visit www.celinebopp.com.
1. healthFirst and foremost take care of your skin inside and out. Diet and a good skin care routine can benefit everyone of us. When your skin is good, you feel better.
2. eyelashesInvest in a decent pair of lash curlers. My favourite are by Shu Umerua, they cost around £20, the rubber inner lining can be replaced so they should last you years.
3. tintingTinting your lashes and eyebrows can create depth, length and structure, it will make getting ready in the morning a breeze and you’ll even look good before you get out of bed! Tint lasts about four weeks and is a must before holidays.
4. eyebrowsI have a constant battle with this topic. It was once fashion to be super thin, but no more, I’m fairly certain that trend will never come back. Eyebrows frame and shape your face. Do not over tweeze, have a professional brow shape and be shown how to fill them in to suit you.

5. baseTinted Moisturiser or CC Cream are brilliant for a fresh faced look with a light, even coverage. My favourite is Arbonne CC Cream, brilliant for light coverage, comes in fair, Light, Medium or Dark, formulated with botanicals to soothe and hydrate your skin without any nasty chemicals, a must have in your make up kits.
6. cheeksFlush your cheeks. Not only does it give us the appearance of a more youthful skin, it also brightens up the complexion. It really does depend on the individual but here is a rough guideline for colour: Pale skin tones - a pinky rosy blush. Olive tones use apricots and bronzers. Dark skin - orange/red or plums. Every skin type is different test in natural light to find your match.
7. lipsKeep lips moisturised. Tip - use your eye cream around your lips to help prevent fine lines.
8. highlightAnother one of my favourite tricks is to highlight the skin. Highlighting the top of your cheek bone, bridge of the nose, cupids bow, inner corner of eyes and brow bone blended well can lift your face to a perfectly natural glow.

We all know the sun is beautiful, we love the sun, we crave it when it’s not there. Its a good source of Vitamin D however, we do we need to protect our skin from the suns radiation. Take note, there is more to look for than just SPF when shopping, look for other key words like multi spectrum, broad spectrum or UVA/UVB protection.

INGREDIENTS 2 or 3 ripe, peeled bananas 1/3 cup of melted butter 1 beaten egg 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 teaspoon of baking soda A pinch of salt 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour ½ a cup of sugar
Yummy banana bread
Get the oven on first so that it heats up to 350°F (175°C) and grease up or line a small oblong loaf tin.
Mash up the bananas in a mixing bowl and stir in the butter once smooth. Mix in the baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg and vanilla. Mix in the flour. Pour the mixture into your loaf tin and bake for around an hour. You can tell if it’s cooked by sliding a knife or skewer into the middle and if it comes out clean you’re done. Let the loaf cool on a rack and serve when slightly warm. Perfect with some custard!
Brekkie Flapjacks
INGREDIENTS 85g chopped mixed nuts 200g rolled oats 12.5g sunflower seeds 85g self raising flour 40g dried cranberries 70g demerara sugar 125g butter 3tbsp golden syrup 2 mashed bananas 1 egg
Put the oven on at 180°c (160°c fan), gas mark 4.
Pop everything into a mixing bowl, except for the sunflower seeds, and mix it all up (make sure the butter is softened first so it’s easier to stir).
Once it’s all mixed up, put the mixture into a 22cm square shallow tin.
Bake the flapjacks in the oven for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and then slice up.

Nature tends to dictate what
we do in the garden and
sometimes it’s just too late to plant those seeds, too early
to prune that bush and
incredibly you are already on
top of the weeding. So what
can you do to fulfil that urge to work the land? Why start
a herb garden of course!
Jobs for September:-
If you are growing pumpkins
for Halloween, you need to
support the fruit as it swells and raise it up to keep it off
the wet ground and deter
slugs. Restrict each plant to
no more than three fruits.
Clear up finished crops, clean and store any supports or
netting for future use.
Keep planting winter lettuces for a supply of fresh leaves
right through autumn.
Fancy fresh strawberries next year? Now is a good time to
get new plants established.
Add support to Brussels sprouts by drawing up earth
around the stems, or using
canes.
on your PLOT Herbs
Most activity on your plot is tied to
the seasons, but this month we take
a look at one project that can be
started off at almost any time of the year - your own herb garden.
As we’ve taken to growing more and
more of our own food so we have
found ourselves getting increasingly interested in trying out new recipes
to make the most of all those lovely
fresh flavours. Recipe books abound
in our kitchen and they all have one thing in common - the use of herbs,
and what a variety of them there is!
Whether you’re looking for a sprig of
fresh mint, a handful of rosemary, or some chopped chives what could be
better than being able to choose and
harvest them right outside your own
back door?
Choosing the right site for your herb
garden is important, and outside
your back door is often a good place to start! Planting near the kitchen
makes it easy to pop out for a few
fresh leaves when you are cooking,
and many of us have a patio which
can easily become home to a variety of container grown herbs. Herbs can
make an attractive, fragrant and
tasty addition to your borders, or you
may prefer to opt for a permanent
herb bed. If this is the case you will need to give some consideration to
containing the growth of some of the
more vigorous varieties. This can be
done by dividing the bed (a
cartwheel design made with bricks is very attractive), or by using pots sunk
into the ground.
Herbs comprise of both annual
plants, that germinate, grow, flower
and die within the year, and perennials that will grow on from
one year to the next. Whatever you
plant, you will need to find out which
type it is and the conditions that it
favours. The more hardy perennial types such as thyme, rosemary or
mint may be happy outside all year
round. One of the advantages of
using containers is that tender varieties can be moved under cover
during the worst of the winter and
even tender annuals like basil can
have their season extended by lifting
plants to pot up and keep on the kitchen windowsill as autumn
approaches.
One of the great things about a herb
garden is that it can be continually
evolving. Look upon it as just the
start of a collection, that will grow
with time. Adding a new variety can
be as simple as picking up a plant that takes your fancy on a trip out
and adding a new pot to your
collection.
As well as using herbs fresh from the garden, you can dry leaves by
hanging in bunches and then storing
in an airtight container, or use ice
cube trays to freeze chopped up leaves with a drop of water. Store
the cubes in polythene bags, great
for adding to a stew in the middle of
winter!
