The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (or the UK for short) is situated in the west of Europe. They are made up of islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

Some people use different names for the UK for example, Great Britain and Britain, but these are NOT the same.

Great Britain is the name for England, Scotland and Wales only.

Britain is the name for England and Wales only.

When people think about the UK, they often think only of England, but this is not correct. The cultures of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are very different.
