Dear Friends, Two weeks ago we were thrilled to hear the news as Bishop David Graves appointed Rev. Kelli
Hitchman-Craig as an addition to the pastoral staff at Auburn United Methodist Church! It is with
great joy that I can introduce to the Auburn UMC family the newest member of our clergy team.
We look forward to Rev. Kelli joining us on July 1st. I invite you to read below Rev. Kelli’s
thoughts as she prepares to join our church family. God bless,
Cory
Friends of Auburn UMC, I grew up outside Atlanta, Georgia, and eventually attended the University of Georgia
where I graduated with a degree in Nutrition Sciences. After graduating from UGA (Go
Dawgs!), I began my studies at Duke Divinity School. It was there that I met a charming
Montgomery boy who I now call my husband! My husband, Patrick, serves just up the
road as an associate at First United Methodist Opelika. Most days, you can find us mulling around Downtown Opelika, watering our tiny urban
garden, or tending to our large collection of houseplants! When I’m not busy being a
“Plant Mom” and pastor, you’ll find me eating tacos, strolling through the public library,
or sharing meals with friends around my kitchen table. I am giddy with excitement as I look forward to the meals we will share, memories we
will make, and ministry we will do together! Cheers,
Kelli Hitchman-Craig

Summer studies for Adults “Make a Difference” Following Your Passion and Finding
Your Place to Serve, by James Harnish
This 6 week DVD study will be offered at two
different times:
Sundays 5:00-6:30pm beginning July 8
Tuesdays 12:00-1:00pm beginning July 10
Led by a team of laity and AUMC staff
Connect Your Passion with the World’s Great Need. Every day we see
that things are not right in our world, and as followers of Jesus Christ,
we have an impulse to do something about it. We long to connect our
passions and gifts with the world's great needs, making a unique
contribution for the healing of the world. In Make a Difference, author
James A. Harnish helps you answer the questions "How can I contribute
to God's healing work in this world?"; and "How can I find my place to
serve and make a difference?" Drawing upon biblical wisdom and real
stories of real people who have found their place to serve, he provides
practical guidance to help every disciple make a difference as a
participant in God's transformation of the world. Order your book at www.cokesbury.com or contact Ann Moss
[email protected] by June25.

What an amazing week we
had at Shipwrecked VBS! We
learned that even when you
are lonely, worried, struggle,
or make wrong choices, Jesus
rescues! Fun Bible buddies
helped us to learn these
promises from Scripture….
Along with 150 amazing
adult and youth leaders! We
are so thankful for a
congregation who comes together to help make this incredible week
possible for our kids and the community. We thank each of you who prayed
for us, baked and sent snacks for the volunteers, and donated supplies and
materials. We are especially thankful for those of you who gave your time
to lead and love on our kids!
