October Movies

Shown Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 In the Theater on the 3rd Floor

10/1 The Hollars (PG 13)

After learning about his mother's grave illness, aspiring graphic novelist John Hollar leaves New York City behind and

heads to his hometown, where he must contend with his dysfunctional family, an old rivalry and a persistent ex-

girlfriend.

10/3 Welcome to Marwen (PG13)

When a devastating attack leaves Mark Hogancamp shattered and without his memory, no one expected recovery. But by

putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous fantasy world, where he draws

strength to triumph in the real one. His astonishing art installation becomes a testament to the powerful women who

support him on his journey.

10/8 Crooked House (PG13)

In Agatha Christie's most twisted tale, the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a wealthy patriarch is in-

vestigated by spy-turned-private-detective Charles Hayward (Max Irons), who is lured by his former lover to catch her

grandfather's murderer before Scotland Yard exposes dark family secrets.

10/10 Finding your Feet (PG13)

When 'Lady' Sandra Abbott discovers that her husband of forty years is having an affair with her best friend, she seeks

refuge in London with her estranged, older sister, Bif. The two could not be more different - Sandra is a fish out of water

next to her outspoken, serial dating, free-spirited sibling. But different is just what Sandra needs at the moment, and she

reluctantly lets Bif drag her along to a community dance class, where she starts finding her feet.

10/15 The Hedy Lamarr Story (NR)

Remembered as one of the most ravishing stars of her day, screen legend Hedy Lamarr had brains and beauty -- which

are on full display in this illuminating documentary that spotlights her World War II-era convention of wireless commu-

nication forms

10/17 The Blind Side (PG13)

In this sports drama based on a true story, affluent couple Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy take in Michael, a homeless teen-

ager. Leigh Anne helps him catch up academically and nurtures his growth into a football powerhouse.

10/22 Moonstruck (PG)

In this slice-of-life comedy about the Italian American residents of a Brooklyn neighborhood, an independent-minded

widow falls in love with a one-handed misfit baker, much to the chagrin of her betrothed.

10/24 Clue (PG)

Director Jonathan Lynn's board game-inspired campfest finds six colorful dinner guests gathered at a mansion, where

they all become suspects in the death of the house's owner, who had been blackmailing each of them.

10/29 Young Frankenstein (PG)

A laugh riot from beginning to end, this classic parody from director Mel Brooks stars Gene Wilder as Frederick Franken-

stein, who detests his family history but ultimately can't resist the temptation to follow in his infamous grandfather's

footsteps. Adding to the fun is a brilliant supporting cast that includes Marty Feldman as bug-eyed assistant Igor, Made-

line Kahn as Frankenstein's frosty fiancée and Peter Boyle as the zipper-necked monster.
