ANNUAL CONFERENCE MISSION STATEMENT:
Inspiring the World as Passionate Followers of Jesus Christ
So All May Experience God’s Life-Giving Love
FOLLOWING THE PRINCE OF PEACE
When Augustus Caesar became emperor of Rome, he was hailed as the “Prince of Peace,” because under his rule, the Roman Army was able to subdue and conquer much of the Western World and because there was no more resistance, “peace” was accom-plished.
About the same time, a child was born in Bethlehem, and he was hailed as “Messiah,” the “Anointed One, the “Prince of Peace,” as prophesied by the prophet Isaiah. The Old Testament vision of Messiah was similar to the Roman one – someone whose military might would defeat the enemies of Israel.
Jesus had a different approach. His was a message of inner, spiritual peace and instead of defeating or banishing one’s enemies to eliminate conflict, Jesus taught that we build relationships first with God and then with others, learning to love their enemies and those that disagreed with them.
This is something that is true for the world, and includes our churches. Many of our churches everywhere are going through disagreements and conflicts – misunderstanding and conflict because of differences in language, culture, ideology, and theology. The Hawaii District United Methodist churches, I must admit, are not free from misunderstand-ing and conflict.
Jesus’s message is still true and perhaps needed more than ever. I invite all of us to remember the true Prince of Peace, to follow his teachings, and perhaps most important, to embrace his heart, and may peace reign this Christmas and always.
Grace and aloha,
P.S. REMINDER OF THE APPORTIONMENT DEADLINE: January 9, 2015 – This is an absolute deadline for 2014 apportionments – Friday afternoon in the Conference Center by 4:00 p.m. Cannot be postmarked by that date. I will be departing for Los Angeles on the even-ing of January 4. If you would like for me to hand carry your apportionments, please make arrangements in advance. Thanks so much. Let’s be at or over 100% again this year!!!!

Camp Mekokiko, Big Island, Hawaii
Volunteer Caretaker Position Camp Mekokiko is looking for a volunteer caretaker for the camp from among our mutual ministries. It is volun-teer, but comes with an apartment and mileage. It requires some maintenance skills for buildings, equipment and land, hospitality for renters, as well as owning a 4-wheel pickup to navigate the property. A minimum of a one year commitment is our desire. You can see why we say “volunteer.” It is for someone that wants to live in the country and become a missionary! There is someone perfect for this; we just haven’t found her or him yet (a couple is welcome).

MESSAGE FROM SIONE LILO VAKAUTA, Hawaii District Lay Leader
HAWAII DISTRICT before the end of this year 2014. Listen JESUS is saying to you right now “Don’t be afraid but only BELIEVE”. Hold onto you, point of contact to release your FAITH. It is not too late. All things are possible of you when you BELIEVE.
Remember, THERE IS A GOD WHO REVEALS SECRETS and this same God wants to “SEND AN ANGEL BEFORE THEE.” Dis-cover now how to release your angel and receive God’s Secrets that will be the answer to your difficult problems. I was led to the book of Daniel and there I found that Daniel always received good solutions for his problems as he depended on God. Daniel dis-covered that God revealed important information to him when he spent time with Him.
I sense in my heart that you long for God to reveal some secrets to you. Some Holy Ghost solutions to a situation in your own life…
HAWAII DISTRICT, I sense in my heart, after holding the ALOHA STATE in prayer, that you are now at a place where you must hear from God. There are hurts that haven’t healed and some things you don’t know what to do about.
I say to you as Gods Servant …. GOD IS A GOD WHO REVEALS HIDDEN SECRETS. I could feel your longing for a supernat-ural touch from God….
GOD SPOKE THESE WORDS… “Send an ANGEL….. Release an ANGEL.” Too often we struggle with things we don’t have to struggle with… we can send an ANGEL. Exodus 23:20 says, “BEHOLD I SEND AN ANGEL BEFORE THEE.”
Over the course of my life as God’s Servant. He has sent angels before me and saved my life …. Delivered me and brought great blessings into my life. I can tell you right now that I did not hear this word from God for every person who has written this I feel God has chosen you and me.
God spoke “SEND AN ANGEL”… an Angel is the presence of God… a guardian over you in times of trouble … a deliverer from hindrances… one who has power to release you from the snares satan has set for you.
Before this year ends… I must “SEND AN ANGEL” to give you God’s love, guidance, protection, prosperity and deliverance. Then, God wants to reveal some secrets to you… secrets about your hurting and your healing. Secret life that you don’t know how to handle. Yes, there are secrets concerning you that will change you and your direction in life.
One more IMPORTANT THING … I couldn’t close this letter without completing what God has sent me to do… “SEND AN ANGEL.” TO HAWAII DISTRICT AND LET US ALL SAY THIS PRAYER FOR 2015.
DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I COME BEFORE THEE SEEKING THY LOVING GUIDANCE TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS ALL WEEK. I ASK YOU TO POINT MY WAY TOWARD ALL GOOD, AND LET ME SHARE GOOD WITH OTHERS. LET ME WALK WITH THEE IN COURAGE, FAITH, AND CONFIDENCE TO REACH MY GOALS FOR BETTER LIVING. I KNOW ALL POWER IS IN THY HANDS, AND I AM BLESSED TO RECEIVE THY DIVINE GUIDANCE… AND I THANK THEE FOREVERMORE… AMEN
PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND MERCY
WE LOVE YOU HAWAII DISTRICT
