CATHOLIC CENTER MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Center at the University of Georgia is a
Eucharistic Community that seeks to live the gospel of
Jesus Christ in the tradition of our Roman Catholic faith
and the spirit of St. Francis. As Christian disciples we are
charged to answer Christ’s call for compassion by becoming
instruments of peace, charity and justice. We seek to stand
in solidarity with the poor, the stranger, the alienated and to
collaborate with those who serve them in local and global
communities. We endeavor to respect a universe
created by God in Love.

PEACE BE WITH YOU
Everyone is invited to stop by the Catholic Center office during business hours through Friday, August 28th to sign an altar cloth in memory of Fr. Tom Vigliotta. The altar cloth will be used at the 5:00PM Student Mass on Sunday, August 30th and at the 10:00AM Mass on Saint Francis’ Feast Day, October 4th, both of which are being offered in memory of Fr. Tom. The cloth will then be sent to the Vigliotta family as a token of the Catholic Center community’s love and sympathy.
Lord, take me where you want me to go,
let me meet who you want me to meet,
tell me what you want me to say,
and keep me out of your way.

Donut Ministry Coordinator Needed
The Catholic Center is looking for someone to coordinate the donut ministry for the upcoming school year. The coordinator schedules volunteers and groups to set up and serve coffee and donuts after the 10AM Sunday Masses during the school year. You need not be a 10 AM Mass person to apply! Please call the office if you would like to sign up or are interested in learning
more about this much appreciated ministry!
Help with Sunday Night Dinners
It's that time of year again where we start preparing for the UGA Student Sunday Night Dinners. I am looking for volunteers who would like to be a part of our Sunday Dinner Teams. If interested, please email Persia Briones at [email protected] for more information or to sign up! It's a great experience to feed our collegians. I hope you will consider
helping out this year!
HOMEBOUND BASKET MINISTRY
Throughout the year our community provides baskets of goodies for the homebound. If you have a friend or relative who is living in a nursing home or is no longer able to get to Mass and who would enjoy receiving a holiday goodie basket, please contact Linda Dube at 706-227-9445 to get his or her name on her distribution list. Please also let Linda know if you would like to help prepare or deliver baskets to the homebound.
