THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 30, 2017 RICKY'S COMMUNICATION NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS SANCTUARY CHOIR REHEARSAL –NOVEMBER 1 NO CHURCH ORCHESTRA REHEARSAL – NOVEMBER 5 ANNOUNCEMENTS MUSIC FOR SUNDAY RICKY'SCOMMUNICATION MAKING PROGRESS Our choir rehearsal last week was very helpful in continuing to advance our preparation for Christmas. Thank you to all of you who were here (some of you came back in town specifically for this rehearsal and I appreciate it). We are only 5 weeks away from the week of CHRIST HAS COME, so every rehearsal is critical to be sure we are ready. I hope you are enjoying the music itself as you listen and learn. The unique combination of beautiful melodies and harmonies along with the powerful truth of the gospel story provides us with the opportunity to speak into people’s lives at a time when they often are the most receptive to hear. May I encourage you to not only be working on your music, but to also be inviting people to hear this presentation. Invite your friends and co-workers, family and neighbors. But most importantly, invite those you know who may not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. What better Christmas gift could you offer than to introduce someone to the One whose birth, life, death and resurrection we celebrate. With each Wednesday rehearsal we will be able to utilize more and more time working on Christmas. And this coming Sunday, November 5, we will have our next “Christmas Only” rehearsal from 5:30-7:30 p.m. If you are planning to sing with us for the Christmas program, you really need to be here this Sunday. I look forward to our time together. NO ORCHESTRA REHEARSAL THIS SUNDAY MORNING He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3

MUSIC FOR SUNDAY

RICKY'SCOMMUNICATION MAKING PROGRESS Our choir rehearsal last week was very helpful in continuing to advance our preparation for Christmas. NO ORCHESTRA REHEARSAL THIS SUNDAY MORNING

Orchestra, you did a great job Sunday morning. Thank you for your work and for your sacrifice. Originally the orchestra was scheduled to rehearse this coming Sunday morning but we will delay our next rehearsal until November 12 so that handbells can have some extra time to prepare for their playing this Sunday morning. HANDBELLS We are playing this coming Sunday morning in the worship service and will rehearse at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary. THE SCOTT SHEPHERD FAMILY in Concert You will remember the Shepherd Family who played and sang for us at Choir Retreat back in August. They will be here Friday night, November 10, performing a concert for the Hayward Brown Banquet. The banquet will be in the Social Center at 6:00 p.m. and the concert will begin in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. Cost for the concert alone is $5 at the door and the concert is open to the public. Many of you may want to hear them again. And if you did not get to hear them at choir retreat, this will be a wonderful opportunity to hear some beautiful and inspiring music from a talented family using piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, and mandolin and a variety of styles that will speak to your spirit. Scott is the new worship and music specialist with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and he and his wife, Tracy, have 4 children who play sing and compose. Their children are Jordan (15), Iris (12), Gideon (10) and Grace (7). They are a treat and I would love for you experience the Shepherd Family once again. DRESS FOR THE CHRISTMAS PRESENTATION? Ladies – Black dress pants and black dress shirt or Black dress (at least knee length) or Black Skirt (at least knee length) and Black top Men – Black Tuxedo or Black Suit with black tie or Black dress pants and black dress shirt See you in rehearsals,
