. . . . . . . From School to Home
2020 Term 2 Week 3
Dear Parents
The Week That Is Not The Norm….
This is the start of our “unusual school weeks” at kindy & at home ….
Monday & Tuesday, school was as per normal (not quite actually!) at Bethany;
came Wednesday (8 Apr 2020) and for the rest of the week (and weeks? to come … ) ….
the children are all at home with you Mums & Dads ….
Yippee! from all the children (hahah! … Not too sure, the feeling it’s the same for all you Mums & Dads)
Yes we’re very sure your kids love to have you with them at home …
Let’s use this time to build special bonds and precious memories,
creating and developing valuable relationships with our children .
Looking at this very distinct week ……
Teachers were pleasantly surprised, when over 20 children arrived in school,
as we were not expecting any to turn up!
So it was quite a special time with the smaller group.
After arriving in school – One of our most looked forward to & much loved time …

Look at our Circle Time …
Totally aware of why some of their friends are not in school ….
Yes, with Covid-19 we must practise personal hygiene diligently in school, at home and all the times!
Library Time on Monday
“NLB’s closed, can we borrow more books?” came a request.
Kindy is most happy for the children to borrow as many books as they would like to and
we do have an in our library …
“Can I borrow some for my sister / brother?” isn’t that sweet?
Little acts of kindness are very telling … such always encourage Teachers’ hearts
Values taught, caught and learned and being practised!
Yes, one lugged back as many as 16 books !
The Love children routinely borrow the
books in their classroom .. but we’re in
for a SPECIAL TREAT!
Into the bubble lift and to the Library
with T. Ainslie – we had a great time!

With the two days in school, we did our revision (Language, Maths, Chinese) & had lots of activities :
Joy & Peace
They really loved the songs/rhymes about the plants and seeds - ”plant that seed… la ..la …la…”
The Peace children in the
Library recording all the
books they are borrowing

Peace
Our graduating class this year – any opportunity for a group shot … JUST SNAP IT!
The Peace children have made good progress after Term 1.
Much better understanding of work requirements/instructions,
discipline to sit through and complete written exercises and greatly improved hand writing for most.
They are constantly and consistently being prepared for transition to primary school
e.g. accountability and responsibility for personal possessions (pencil case, water bottle, show-and-tell items);
self-help skills (changing in and out of their clothes, requesting for help when necessary; etc.)

Show-and-Tell
Matthew demostrated how he can hold his brown bear without using his hands –
like under his shirt and his chin and behind his ears (… with Teacher’s help)
Left to right:
Jonathan has only one piece of Lego to show us because all the other pieces are at home!
Maia said “these are wet wipes, not dried tissue paper”.
She then balanced the packet of wet wipes on her head
Ethan demonstrated the use of the drumsticks; drumming on the stool with some rhythm …
He shared the drumsticks and his friends had a go … drumming away!

Our Snack Biscuits
Mutually beneficial …
Kindy did not want to store the Sultana Biscuits
during and beyond the Community Circuit Breaker period ….
“Who would like to have some these biscuits?”
No short of volunteers and again.. ”Can I have another packet for my brother / sister? “
