DUNFEE MISSIONARY CHURCH VOLUME ONE APRIL 3, 2020

We are calling for the churches in the Missionary Church to observe Good Friday, April 10, as a National Day of Fasting and Prayer.

This call is threefold in nature:

To plead to a merciful God to put an end to this pandemic. If there were ever a time when we need to embrace 2 Chronicles 7:14, it is now.

To call the church to a deeper level of intimacy with God and a greater sense of dependency. Prayer should always deepen our relationship with Him (Psalm 34:4).

To pray for spiritual awakening in our churches, in the nation, and globally. Every great move of God has been preceded by extraordinary seasons of prayer. We could be on the verge of the greatest awakening in history.

PREPARE YOURSELF

Come to Him in faith – Hebrews 11:6 Come in humility – Colossians 3:12; Psalm 10:17 Come in desperation – Psalm 18:6 Come in expectation – John 14:13 Come with gratitude – Psalm 107:15

ABOUT FASTING There is nothing meritorious about fasting. It is simply about seeking the face of God. Generally, a day of fasting and prayer may begin after dinner the day before the fast. Then the fast is often broken at the next evening meal. Whether you fast from food, technology, or something else, at least the time you would normally spend doing that would be spent in prayer. Hopefully the entire day would be spent in reflection and prayer.

Pray for a Do-It-Yourself Easter activity outreach a STAFF COUPLE is planning for their church families to learn about Easter. The activities will be setup in four stations and share the gospel and focus on a restored relationship with Jesus. The staff couple states, “Through these stations we are attempting to open people’s eyes to the one true God by focusing on the fact that He is relational.” To subscribe or unsubscribe to this newsletter, please email Robin More at [email protected]

Eight Things to do why you are Quarantined 1. Read a soul-encouraging book. My suggestion would be The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom.

2. Stay engaged with our Church Family. The telephone is an awesome vehicle to use for this purpose.

3. Serve those in need. Look for opportunities to serve. Neighbors, Community, our Families.

4. Get outside and engage a neighbor. Neighborhood shout outs at 7pm at the end of the driveway. Look for creative and safe opportunities.

5. Watch a seasonal movie. Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. Why not introduce your family to some of the Classics: The Passion of the Christ, Risen, The Robe, Veggie tales: An Easter Carol. Easter Parade. 6. Cook and eat a meal as a family. An interactive pleasure.

7. Use social media for the mission. Use strategically to engage.

8. Build or Reestablish a daily quiet time. A daily time with God where we read, reflect, meditate, pray, and listen to Word of God, and to the Spirit of God.
