Did anyone else think it was never going to come? With the onset of warmer weather our yacht club has definitely come to life. The boaters are busy putting the last touches on their boats and praying for a summer of calm seas and beautiful weather. The landlubbers are busy staking out their spots at the pool to enjoy the new liner and pool deck. We have already had many beautiful sunsets which our members have been enjoying. The “Sunday on the Deck” music series has begun along with the opening of the pool and the yacht club fuel dock is open. Also, go check out the facelift we have given our dining room. It is all crisp and clean with a new dance floor, carpet, paint and window cornices. All is good in WYC Land. Denise and I are looking forward to having a very exciting summer. June is going to be a very busy month around here. The Cigar Aficionado night on June 14th is always a big hit with the membership. The New Members Steak Fry, June 16 th makes for a great time to meet new members, cook your own steak, and be entertained by the Mondellos. Our Thursday Night Dinner, June 21st is a great excuse to not cook and come down to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our members. Sign up sheets for both are on the podium in the lounge. The last event of June is Family Day on June 24 th . Greg & Shana Howard along with their committee have a day of family fun planned including great food, music by Straight Ahead and games for all ages. Food is an array of Barbecue type items plus your WYC favorites such as clam fritters and chowder. You may sign up in the lounge but you can also buy tickets at the door. We are going to try something new on Wednesday, July 4 th in the way of an “Old Fashioned 4 th of July Picnic” complete with Dunns Corners delicious fried chicken, potato salad and coleslaw topped off with ice cream sundaes and watermelon. Stella Tunes will be there to keep the party going. This will be a rain or shine event. In conclusion, I would like to thank John and Peg Donlon along with Mike and Kelly Cardente and their all who helped for a great “ Derby de Mayo” party. The turnout was like no other. Our Mother’s Day brunch was one of the best attended thanks to the help of the house committee with assistance from Chef Extraordinaire Dave Miguel, PC. I would also like to thank Dave and Brenda Santos and Dave and Christine Kennedy for a fabulous Martini Tasting Party another new event this year. ”Remember, what happened at Martini night stays at Martini night.” And thank you to Branden and Kate Hutchinson and their committee for putting together our Annual Memorial Day Picnic your efforts are truly appreciated. Reminder, June 13 th @ 7:30 is our general membership meeting. I would like to see you all there. I am always open to new ideas and any thoughts our membership has so please try to attend. Three months in and I’m ready to take off my Commodore training wheels and barrel right into our club’s busiest season…the summer. Did anyone else think it was never going to come? With the onset of warmer weather our yacht club has definitely come to life. The boaters are busy putting the last touches on their boats and praying for a summer of calm seas and beautiful weather. Denise and I are looking forward to having a very exciting summer. June is going to be a very busy month around here. The Cigar Aficionado night on June 14th is always a big hit with the membership. The New Members Steak Fry, June 16th makes for a great time to meet new members, cook your own steak, and be entertained by the Mondellos. Our Thursday Night Dinner, June 21st is a great excuse to not cook and come down to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our members. Sign up sheets for both are on the podium in the lounge. Food is an array of Barbecue type items plus your WYC favorites such as clam fritters and chowder. You may sign up in the lounge but you can also buy tickets at the door.

We are going to try something new on Wednesday, July 4th in the way of an “Old Fashioned 4th of July Picnic” complete with Dunns Corners delicious fried chicken, potato salad and coleslaw topped off with ice cream sundaes and watermelon. Stella Tunes will be there to keep the party going. This will be a rain or shine event.
