Enjoy a slide presentation about Downton Abbey fashions with Sara Hume, Curator and Assistant Professor from Kent State Uni- versity Museum. There will also be a discussion of the book Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey by the Countess of Carnarvon. The book tells the real story behind Highclere Castle, the inspiration and setting for the Emmy award winning PBS series, Downton Abbey. It also delves into the life of one of its most famous inhabitants, Lady Almina, the 5 th Countess of Carnarvon and daughter of the wealthy industrialist Alfred de Rothschild. Find out what other secrets are held in the walls of Highclere Castle. Do you ever imagine yourself residing in an English castle

like Downton Abbey? Are you glued to the set Sunday nights

anticipating the next episode? Then here’s a fun event you

won’t want to miss.

Come dressed as one of your favorite characters from Down-

ton Abbey for the January Book and Brush Club. Enjoy a

slide presentation about Downton Abbey fashions with Sara

Hume, Curator and Assistant Professor from Kent State Uni-

versity Museum. There will also be a discussion of the book Lady Almina and

the Real Downton Abbey by the Countess of Carnarvon.

The book tells the real story behind Highclere Castle, the inspiration and setting

for the Emmy award winning PBS series, Downton Abbey. It also delves into
