Foot Reflexology Techniques to Enhance Health Care in a Variety of SettingsAs health care providers, we are constantly searching for ways to augment our work, and we need ways to maintain and replenish our own health. We want to provide the best possible care in the limited time we have with our clients, and we want our work to be effective.

Reflexology is a complementary health care modality that is very effective when used alone, and also augments many other kinds of physical and energy therapies. This hands-on seminar provides you with the basic principles and skills for applying foot reflexology techniques safely, efficiently and effectively to enhance your work with clients. Health care providers will learn skills to help relieve numerous common symptoms. Insomnia and other symptoms of stress, muscle spasms and other painful conditions respond remarkably quickly to the methods taught in this seminar. And the self-care practice sessions will help you with your own physical comfort and stamina.

Course DirectorJUDiTH NOURSE, RN, aRCB, LMBT, is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, and Board Certified Reflexologist who began studying reflexology in 1994, when it completely alleviated severe sciatic pain she had experienced for two years. Impressed by its effectiveness, she became certified in the Laura Norman method and completed Level 1 instructor training. She was awarded certification by the American Reflexology Certification Board in 1997. Ms. Nourse is a seasoned instructor of reflexology who has maintained a private practice since 1996. She has taught basic reflexology to students in a professional massage program for four years and to adults in continuing education programs. Ms. Nourse

teaches Therapeutic Reflexology (hands and feet techniques) with Cross Country Education. She developed the program Self Care • Family Care Reflexology™, which she teaches to the public in physicians’ offices. She has taught Introduction to Reflexology and Therapeutic Touch to nursing students. Ms. Nourse has worked in various health care settings, including 14 years in dental hygiene and 10 years in clinical nursing (emergency, ambulatory surgery, and psychiatric settings). Ms. Nourse has training in other well-known methods of reflexology, including the Ingham method, the Flocco method, 12 Meridian and 5 Element Reflexology, and Maternity Reflexology. She holds a diploma from the Institute of Facial Reflexology in Barcelona. Ms. Nourse was the founding President of the North Carolina Reflexology Association and is a professional member of the Reflexology Association of America and the International Council of Reflexologists.
