There are five Grade A events in the Junior Circuit of the International Tennis Federation these tournaments have the greatest ranking points along with the four Grand Slams, this guarantees that the top ranked players attend this event.

The ABIERTO JUVENIL MEXICANO is the first tournament of the year, commencing 23 December after the Orange Bowl Grade A in the United States and before the Coffee Bowl Grade 1 in Costa Rica.

From december 23th to 29th, we willhave 64 boys and 64 girls between 14 and 17 years old, competing to win250 ranking points for singles and 180 ranking points for doubles.

This tournament has been celebrated in Mexico since 1971, 41 years ago.In 2011 the tournament was held at the CENTRO DEPORTIVO CHAPULTEPEC “The Cathedral of Tennis in Mexico”, venue of the most important ties of Davis Cup.

The ABIERTO JUVENIL MEXICANO will be played on nine clay courts and the finals will take place at the “Rafael PelónOsuna” Stadium, with a 2,378 capacity of seated spectators. In 2011, almost 30,000 people attended the Centro DeportivoChapultepec, and witnessed the Abierto Juvenil Mexicano.
