These Old Rails Chronicle story Part 1 By Billy Bandito These old rails don’t judge nobody. Tacks n’ spikes and the ground. The great rumble. Somethings happening in the country. Cops are killin’. They tell us we’re doin splendid well. Folks never lived. Whens the last time you ran into somebody that did somethin’? Tell me… I wish I woulda made it across the country. But I got stopped. By… Well. Darkness and love. Now I done moved on now. Shoot. Lots of boxes that don’t talk. Rails just roll. No more snort. No more nothing. Just waitin’ now. Just waitin’. Payday was like this celebration. I got caught up in it at first. I bought some stuff. It was a big mistake. Barely made it through the two weeks. I just sit there now, lookin at the patheticness of it. It’s so sad. The trucks come in like a grab bag of stuff from all over the world. The company buys it piece by piece. Lookin’ for the cheapest and the prettiest deal. There’s whole teams of folks on the computers lookin’ for the cheapest and the prettiest deal. And there’s loads of ‘em. And the boxes come in. And I get ‘em. The first two weeks I worked pretty hard on ‘em. Now I just kinda sit and don’t force nothin’. It’s alright I guess. But these old rails don’t judge nobody. I comes down here to think. It’s been a long time.
