From the Acting Principal......
Dear Parents / Caregivers,
The South Australian State Government has made a commitment to move Year 7 studentsinto secondary schools across SA by 2022. At this stage there is no need to make any
changes to the transition or enrolment process of Year 7 students to public secondaryschools, however, some private schools have decided to begin the Year 7 transition in2020.
If you have a child or know of anyone who has a child who is starting school in 2019please ensure that they have completed an enrolment form and bring it into our FrontOffice as soon as possible. It is important that we have enrolment forms to ensure that allinformation is provided to families to ensure a smooth start to school. These forms alsoassist us with 2019 planning and staffing.
We will be offering a parent information session for the Parents/Caregivers of all studentsstarting school in Reception in 2019. This will be followed by a six-week transition programwhere the students will attend school on either a Wednesday or Thursday starting in Term4 Week 2. If you know of other families who may be moving into the area and wishing toenrol in our school, please encourage them to book a time to speak with me and have atour of our school and/or complete an enrolment form. In addition to this, if you know thatyou will not be returning to our school next year could you please inform Jayne via theFront Office so that we can take this into our planning considerations as well. Kind Regards
Sharon Willoughby Acting Principal

The competitionconsisted of Year 7s from Woodend PS, Sheidow Park PS, Blackwood PS, Woodcoft PS,Moana PS, Calvary PS, Thiele PS and Hallett Cove South PS. The morning began withthe National Anthems of Australia and Japan and then the teams split into two toparticipate in a round robin competition. The top four teams from each group played off inthe finals.
The students did a great job representing the school with one team making the finals. Iwas a very proud sensei.

Campus Performing Arts Showcase
Campus hosted our Performing Arts Showcase on Thursday of Week 4. Both our matineeand evening performances were very well attended, and it was wonderful to see ourstudents and audience members alike thoroughly enjoying the show.
The opportunities for students to perform in solo, duo, small and large ensembles (our firstact saw over 150 students on stage together!), to Compere, to learn stage management, and to develop sound and lighting technical skills, is a fantastic part of what we do inPerforming Arts on Campus. It was a real pleasure to display our students’ talents inmusic, dance, drama, and technologies.
Our sincere thanks go to the many staff, students and parents who supported this event, giving their up time and sharing their talents to make this one of our most successfulShowcase series yet…

Round 2: Thiele Primary School vs St Joseph’s Kingswood School
The girls had been eagerly anticipating their third game all term and couldn’t wait tocompete in the semi-final against St Joseph’s school. This means Thiele have been knocked out of thisyear’s competition, but will have two year 6 girls raring and ready to go for next year’scompetition. A big thank you to the commitment demonstrated and the determinationshown by each individual and to the captains Casey B and Allie G.
