Gene and Doris Faulkner have invited all Senior Adults to spend a fun and relaxing day with them at Black Creek. Please call the church office to sign up (792-5117). A Southern Coaches bus will pick up those who have signed up for the bus. Reservations can be made by calling the church office. Bus space is limited to 47. You are invited to go down early if you want to fish. Just bring your own tackle. Please let us know. Food is provided and there is no cost. We are asking that you please bring a dessert.

We Will have lots of fun!

A Note from Brad… As many of you know, last week our church was completely transformed for Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme was Amazing Wonders Aviation. Throughout our week, we traveled to fun locales such as the Matterhorn and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Kids had a blast creating some great crafts, playing exciting games, and singing some awesome worship songs. We learned about amazing mission endeavors and, most importantly, we heard from God’s Word. Each and every day we learned how the powerful and amazing one true God desires to have a relationship with each and every one of us.

For our missions offering we brought cans for our community missions. We will be sending over 200 cans and dry goods to our food pantry. We held a little competition between our older kids and younger kids. I represented the younger kids and Dona Stickler represented the older crowd. The older kids brought the most cans by a slim margin. As a result, I got pied and slimed on Friday. Really gross, but way fun!

There is no doubt that VBS is one of my favorite times of the year. It would never happen without a strong team of amazing volunteers. This year, we had over 140 youth and adults on hand to help us make VBS happen. Chances are good if you weren’t able to help out you know someone who did. Take some time this week to thank a VBS volunteer for taking the time to help us impact kids’ lives for Jesus Christ.

By far, my favorite time during VBS week is getting to talk to kids who want to ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. On Wednesday we shared the Gospel during Bible Study. Our pastoral staff and I began to have conversations with kids who had questions and wanted to make decisions. I loved getting to hear some of the prayers of kids asking for forgiveness and for Jesus to take charge in their lives. By the end of the week, heaven was rejoicing for 18 kids who asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. In the coming weeks, pray that God’s drawing of these children will be a ripple effect that opens wide the doors of the Kingdom.
